Welcome to the 5Katie!

The 5Katie event is a 10K and 5K+ trail run, along with a 2K untimed walk, created to raise awareness and support for pediatric cancer. In memory of Katie Cobb, and in partnership with the West Virginia Kids Cancer Crusaders, all profits will benefit care and treatment of children with cancer.

Join us on Saturday, November 7th on the Meeks Mountain Trails in Hurricane, West Virginia for the fifth annual 5Katie!

Race Details

• Packet Pickup: From 7:30 - 8:45 am on Saturday, November 7th at the big red barn at the front of Hurricane City Park.
• Race Start/Finish Line: Located by the shelter in the “bowl”, across the train tracks (be aware, and be careful).
• Bathrooms: Available in Hurricane City Park, and portable restrooms will be at the start/finish area.
• Aid Stations: Water and sports drink stations will be available along the course and there will be post-race refreshments at the shelter in the bowl.

Race Distances

• 5K Course: Close to 4 miles from start to finish.
• 10K Course: Approximately 6.1 miles from start to finish.
• 2K Walk: Approximately 1 mile long.
• Note: Distances may vary due to terrain and GPS accuracy. Refer to course markings on race day.

Awards

• Categories: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for male and female in various age divisions.
• Age Divisions: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and up.
• 2K Walk: Non-competitive event on a course around the bowl.
• Trail Courses: Single track trails utilizing the hand-built trail system at Meeks Mountain.

Safety

EMT will be on call for emergency situations.

Finish Line Swag

Each registrant, including walkers, will receive a high-quality shirt if registered no later than October 26, 2026!

• 2K Walk (Untimed): $35
• 5K Trail Race: $35
• 10K Trail Race: $45
