Join us for Lakewood Center’s Outrun Stigma 5k and be part of the movement to break the stigma surrounding mental illness.

This chip-timed race with age group awards offers you the chance to make a direct impact on the essential services we provide, from long-term residential care to community integration support and groundbreaking therapeutic programs. Through our comprehensive care model, Lakewood Center empowers adults living with serious mental illness to grow, thrive, and achieve greater independence.

📅 Day of Event Schedule

• 7:00 AM: Registration & Pre-Registrations Opens
• 7:45 AM: Warm-up
• 8:00 AM: 5K Race Start

👕 T-Shirts

Shirts are guaranteed for all pre-registered participants prior to 2/3/26. Once a shirt is sold out you will see sold out. Shirts are not guaranteed on race day.

🏆 Awards

Awards will be provided to the top 3 Males and Top 3 Females and Top 3 in the following Age Groups: 6 & under, 7-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74-75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90+.

📦 Day of Registration & Packet Pick Up

Packet pickup and registration will take place on race day at race site from 6:45 AM to 7:50 AM.

🚗 Parking

Parking is plentiful next to the race start location. The race starts and ends at the same location.

⏱️ Timing & Scoring

Race will be timed and scored with a disposable chip provided, which will be attached to the back of the bib.

❓ FAQs

• Course Length: The 5K is 3.1 miles.
• Timing Method: The race uses an electronic timing system that records race time and place via a transponder chip that will be given out at registration. Each individual competing in the 5K is required to use the race chip. Official times will not be recorded without a chip.
• Results: Official results are posted for the top runners in each category. Race staff has all results for on-site inquiries and results are posted on the race website.
• T-Shirt Eligibility: Only pre-registered runners that successfully complete the registration and payment processes prior to 2/3/26 are guaranteed a race t-shirt.

🚑 On-Course Assistance

Qualified emergency medical professionals are available to provide assistance at the start/finish lines.

🐶 Pets and Strollers

Yes, you can participate in the event with your dog. Yes, you can participate with a stroller. However, please start in the latter part of the runners.

💧 Water

Yes, we encourage you to bring your own water, but there will be a water station on the course as well as at the finish.

🤔 Refund Policy

We appreciate your race registration. We are unable to issue refunds. We are not in a position to credit your credit card or issue checks.

🌧️ Weather Policy

The race is a "rain or shine" event. All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather.

🏅 Post-Race Event

An awards ceremony will take place after the race at the start/finish location.
