Race Description

• Entertainment: The Black Cat Chase 3K is filled with fun and excitement from both the race participants and spectators!
• Festivities: Enjoy Halloween themed events, costumes, dancers, and performances.
• Family Friendly: A great event for the entire family, whether participating alone or as a group.
• Location: Start/finish is in Downtown Frankfort in front of the Old Capitol lawn.

Route Changes

• Construction Impact: Due to ongoing construction, the route has been altered to accommodate traffic and emergency vehicles.
• New Route: A condensed 3K route avoiding Capitol Avenue and around the state capitol has been established.
• Community Focused: Everything else will be the same, with a fantastic night that’s Halloween themed!

Beneficiary

• Proceeds: Benefits the YMCA's Annual Giving Campaign for children and families in need.
• Non-Profit: The YMCA is a non-profit charitable organization.
• Donations: Are appreciated and accepted during registration to support the Frankfort community.

• Timing: Electronic chip timing for fast and accurate results.
• Notification: Receive a text message or email after finishing!
• Instructions: Follow registration instructions for preferred results notifications.

Virtual Race Participants

• Upload Time: Times can be uploaded from October 19 to October 24, 2025.

• Awards: Virtual participants are ineligible for race awards.

Awards

• Top Participants: Awards for top five overall male and female participants.
• Age Divisions: Awards for top three in each age division.
• Teams: Awards for the top three teams (minimum of five runners).
• Additional Awards: School prizes, best group costumes, and other fun awards.

Costume Contest

• Parade: Costume parade at 6:30 PM in front of the Old Capitol building.
• Judging: Race bib must be visible for judges.
• Awards: Costume awards given during the awards ceremony after the race.

Team Registration

• Team Name: One member creates the team name upon registration.
• Discounts: $2.50 discount for teams of five: $5.00 discount for teams of ten.
• Awards: Teams with five or more are eligible for team awards.

• Inventory: Limited sizes available: swaps allowed if your size is unavailable.
• Shirt Exchange: Available while supplies last.

• Locations: Pick up your race bag, timing chip, and shirt.
• Times: October 23: 4:00 PM-7:00 PM: October 24: 11:00 AM-2:30 PM: October 24: 5:00 PM-6:30 PM.
• Locations: Prevention Park YMCA and Broadway Street/Old State Capitol.
