Harmony Silvester

Event Overview

The Harmony Silvester 20th Anniversary Celebration is a family-focused event in Historic Harmony that honors its German heritage by celebrating Silvester (New Year’s Eve) on German time-6:00 PM (midnight in Germany). Kicking off the event, there is a 5K race, followed by a 1 Mile Fun Run and new for this year a Diaper Dash. At 6 PM, we will count down in German to a ball-drop, followed by fireworks and singing of Auld Lang Syne. Other activities include vendors, and a Christmas tree and wreath toss.

Race Features

• Shirts: The first 300 5K runners will receive a long-sleeve 20th anniversary race shirt. Guaranteed size must be made by December 7th. Thereafter, while inventory lasts.
• Registration: Day of registration will be held in the Grace Church Gymnasium at 538 Main Street, Harmony, PA 16037 starting at 2 PM. Changing facilities available in the gym.
• Gym Hours: Please note the gym will close at 5:45 PM so the volunteers can attend the countdown.
• Race Start: 5K starts at 3:30 on Mercer Street across from the entrance to the Harmony Museum.

Event Schedule

• 1 Mile Fun Run: Starts at 4:15 on Wood Street across from the Harmony Inn.
• Diaper Dash: Starts at 5:15 inside Grace Church Gymnasium.
• Packet Pickup: Early packet pickup at Grace Church Gymnasium (Dec 30th - 4 - 7 PM). Race day starting at 2:00 PM at the gym.
• Weather Policy: We will hold the event except for extreme weather (blizzard conditions).

Parking Information

Parking is available in and around Harmony. Parking for participants at Grace Church lot until full. Parking also at Robinson Fans at 400 Robinson Drive and German Street and at Transtex Composites at 200 Utah Street.

Course Descriptions

• 5K Course: Race starts and ends across from the entrance to the Harmony Museum parking lot on Mercer Street. Course is an out and back starting out going slightly downhill, then one large hill followed by a flat stretch parallel to the Connoquenessing Creek. The last 1/2 mile to the finish will be slightly uphill.
• 1 Mile Course: Race starts on Wood Street directly across from the Harmony Inn. Course is flat and remains in town doing a loop.
• Diaper Dash: If your child is crawling or just starting to walk, this is the event for you. Participants will dash across padded mats to the finish line.

Awards

• 5K Awards: Top 3 Male & Female Overall. Top 3 Male & Female in various age groups: 10 & under, 11-14: 15-19: 20-24: 25-29: 30-34: 35-39: 40-44: 45-49: 50-54: 55-59: 60-64: 65-69: 70-74: 75-79: 80+. Awards can be picked up in the gymnasium immediately following the race.
• 1 Mile Awards: Participants receive a finisher's medal. Parents may run free with their children under age 5.
• Toddler Dash: Participants receive a finisher's medal.

Refund Policy

Sorry, no refunds. All proceeds benefit Harmony parks, trail, canoe launch, summer concerts, Color Run and Silvester events.
