Get ready to kick off your Thanksgiving celebrations with a spirited community event that supports the Wheeling Parks and Recreation mission: "to build healthy communities through people, parks, and programs.”

📅 Event Details

• Date: Thursday, November 27th
• Location: Alma Grace McDonough Center, Wheeling University Campus

⏰ Schedule

• 7:00 AM: Packet pickup and registration open at the McDonough Center
• 8:30 AM: 1K Children’s Fun Run
• 8:30 AM: Packet pickup and registration close
• 8:45 AM: Begin to line up at the start
• 9:00 AM: 5K Run and Walk

🏆 Exciting Extras

• Prizes: Participants in the 5K will have a chance to win fantastic prizes in a random drawing.
• Refreshments: After the race, enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments inside the McDonough Center, where you can mingle with fellow participants and celebrate your accomplishments.

🌐 Virtual Participation

Can’t join us in person? No problem! Sign up as a "Pardoned Turkey" to participate virtually and secure a stylish event T-shirt. Your T-shirt will be available for pickup at packet pick-up, on race day at the McDonough Center, or at the Parks and Recreation office starting December 2nd.

🏅 Award Ceremony

Celebrate your achievements at our awards ceremony, held immediately after the race inside the McDonough Center.

📦 Packet Pick-Up Information

Early Packet Pick-Up (Recommended): Pick up your race packet at the Parks and Recreation Office located at 10 Hunter Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003 on the following dates:

• Tuesday, November 25th 9 AM – 7 PM
• Wednesday, November 26th 9 AM – 1 PM

Day of Race Registration: Registration and packet pick-up will also be available at the McDonough Center from 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM on race day.
