Windward Half Marathon & 5K

The Windward Half Marathon & 5K will be held at Kailua District Park this year, adjacent to the Kailua Intermediate School. The course follows the usual route, with the beautiful Ko'olau mountains as the backdrop.

Packet Pick Up

• First Date: Saturday, March 21, 1-3 pm, at ALOHA FRIDAY WHEELWORKS, 326 Kuulei Rd, Kailua. The shop faces the municipal parking lot in the back, accessible from both Maluniu Ave. and Aulike St.
• Race Day: Sunday, March 22, starting at 5am.
• Payment: ONSITE REGISTRATION AT SATURDAY PACKET PICK-UP AND SUNDAY, MARCH 22 IS CASH ONLY, UNLESS YOU REGISTER ONLINE.

Start Times

• Half Marathon: 6:00 a.m.
• 5K: 6:05 a.m.

Timing

Your timing chip is on your bib number. Your bib number must be visible from the front. No finish time without it.

Pre-Race Instructions

Pre-race instructions for the Half Marathon and for the 5K will be given at approximately 5:45 a.m. It is your responsibility to ensure that you head to the start line for the correct race.

Course

• Starting Point: Start in front of Kailua Intermediate School.
• Route: The Half Marathon goes towards Kailua Road. The 5K goes in the opposite direction toward Kainui Dr.
• Aid Stations: There are 5 aid stations on the Half Marathon course and 1 aid station on the 5K course.
• Course Closure: The course closes at 10:00 a.m. Participants still on the course must move to the side and obey traffic laws.

Parking

• Availability: Limited parking is available at Kailua District Park.
• Alternative Options: Additional ample parking is located at Kailua Library and along side streets.
• Access: There is parking behind Longs with walking access across the open field.
• Meters: Two metered public parking lots in Kailua: one off Maluniu at the Kailua Business center, and another off Aulike behind McDonald's.

Restrooms

Restrooms and port-a-potties are located at Kailua District Park. There are also public restrooms on the Half Marathon course at Enchanted Lake Community Park.
