Race for the Grasshopper 5K

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

At the close of the Battle of Cowpens in 1781, two American officers—confident in victory—raced for the ultimate prize, a British three-pounder cannon, called the “Grasshopper”.

• Time: Race will start at 8:30am
• Location: Cowpens National Battlefield, Gaffney, SC

📋 Packet Pickup

• Early Packet Pickup: Friday January 8th, 5pm-7pm at Gotta Run Spartanburg
• Race Day Pickup: Saturday Jan 9th, 7:00am - 8:15am at Cowpens Battlefield Office parking lot
• Shirts and Bibs: Can be picked up morning of the race or the day before
• No Race Day Sign Up: No registrations will be available on the day of the race

• No Refunds: We will not be able to offer refunds or deferrals
• Weather Considerations: Weather can be an issue in January: some years we may have to reschedule for safety

🏆 Awards

Awards will be given to the top three overall winners in the open, masters, and grandmasters categories.

Age group awards will be presented in the following categories:

• 40-44
• 45-49
• 50-54
• 55-59
• 60-64
• 65-69
• 70-74
• 75 & over
