On Sunday September 27, 2026, the city of Des Moines will host the Midwest Greater DSM Half Marathon Series (formerly the HyVee Half Marathon) again with a co-ed format. Each event will offer a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and our popular Kids One Mile Fun Run for our youngest competitors. Starting and finishing just steps from the Polk County Courthouse on Court Avenue in the heart of downtown Des Moines, Iowa!
🎉 Returning Events
- Each Event: Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K.
- Kids One Mile Fun Run: Specifically designed for ages 5 to 15.
- Exciting Youth Event: Produced by Premier Event Management.
- Start and Finish: Main finish line structure for the Kids event.
👨👩👧👦 Participation
Children from ages 5 to 15 are encouraged to join mom and/or dad on race morning to begin a lifelong lifestyle change at Kids One Mile Fun Run!
