What is a Tunnel To Towers Run & Walk?

• Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001.
• Support: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

• Community Impact: We’re excited to return to Ankeny and the Des Moines area for the 8th year as the Foundation continues its mission to never forget and honor first responders and veterans.

Registration Details

• Day-of Registration: Yes, registration will open at 7:30am the morning of the run.
• Online Registration: Online registration will remain open until race starts.
• Bib Requirement: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
• Fast Runners: This event is not timed so all participants will line up when directed at the time of the race.

Awards and Amenities

• Awards: Our mission is to honor first responders: most awards are based on firefighters, police, or military running in gear.
• Water Availability: Yes, a water station will be available along the route and at the start/finish line.
• Items Permitted: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Please leave personal items in your vehicle.

Fundraising and Donations

• Registration Fee: Your registration fee does not count toward the fundraising goal.
• Donation After Race: Yes, donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.
• Sponsorship: Please send all sponsorship correspondence to ankenyrun@t2t.org.
