Spring Running Program: Track-Based Work

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

We will meet ideally at Washington-Liberty high school track, but with spring sports on, that may not be possible every week. I will notify everyone of the location no later than Wednesday afternoon before a Thursday session. If/when the W-L track is not available, we will shift locations to Oak Grove Park or Yorktown High School Track (Greenbrier Park).

🏅 Program Details

• Practice Sessions: Four practice sessions (drills, laps, practice races, etc.)
• Final Race Day: One final race day
• Awards: All kids who finish the program will receive a medal and water bottle

📅 Schedule

Thursdays from 5:30-6:15pm. Practice will last 45 minutes, though I will stay until 6:30pm to do extra running and/or races with any kids and/or parents who want some extra mileage!

• Dates: March 20th, March 27th, April 3rd, April 10th, and April 24 (Race Day)
• No Practice: Note there will be no practice on April 17th, which is over spring break.

🏋️‍♂️ Session Activities

Each session may include: proper warm up technique, basic strength moves, running drills, form work, sprint repeats, endurance laps, and/or practice races. I'm not setting any age restrictions, but please make sure your child/children know(s) this will be work, not just play! Parents are welcome to join in the running, as well.
