The Cherokee Judicial Mental Health Court program launched in July 2022. Mental Health Court is the second accountability court to serve Bartow and Gordon Counties. The MHC Program is proudly located in Bartow County, in Cartersville Georgia. Participants who meet a qualified mental health diagnosis are offered an alternative to incarceration. The program consists of a team of professionals including an appointed judge, prosecutors, defense attorneys, law enforcement, treatment providers, and a peer support specialist. This accountability program is a minimum of eighteen months long and offers various treatment approaches.
