3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk for Life

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

The Family Life Center will be hosting its 3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk for Life! This race is challenging with great competition and you will love the course scenery on the General Dacey Trail at Forest Park! Please help us make this race a huge success and allow us to continue to provide education, parenting classes, ultrasounds and help to young families in the area.

🕒 Schedule of Events

• Packet Pickup: Thursday, April 24, 2025 – 2:00pm – 4:30pm at Family Life Center, 225 E South 1st St, Shelbyville, IL 62565
• Late Registration: Saturday, April 26, 2025 – 7:00 – 7:45 am
• Race Start: 8:00 am
• Awards: 9:30 am for 1st place in each age group

💵 Registration Fees

5K: $25 per person or $75/family of 5.

Note: Race shirt not included after April 11th – small quantities available for purchase on race day.

Registration includes race entry, T-shirt*, packet, bib, and timed chip. Rain or shine, no refunds. Registration is available on race day. T-shirts will be available in small quantities and can be purchased separately on race day.

❓ Race Day FAQ

• Packet Pick-up: Family Life Center, 225 E South 1st St on Thursday: 2pm - 4:30pm or at Dacey Trail on Saturday: 7:00am - 7:45am
• Course: Starts at the Forest Park entrance of the Dacey Trail. Portions of the course will remain open to traffic.
• Timing: Bib timing provided by Kinetic Timing. You must attach the official bib to the front of your shirt prior to the race.
• Race Number: Pin your race number/bib visibly to the front of your shirt.

💧 Health and Safety

• Hydration: Drink fluids before, during, and after the race.
• Water Stations: A water station will be available along the course.
• Traffic Control: Provided by FLC volunteers, but safety is your own responsibility.
• Watch for Traffic: Be aware of your surroundings while on the course.

🩺 First Aid

First aid will be provided by Family Life Center.

🏆 Awards

Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers in each age group and must be claimed at the event. The age groups are as follows:

• 19 and Under
• 20 - 35
• 35 - 50
• 51 - 65
• 65 and Over

🚗 Parking

Free parking is available in Forest Park north and east of the ball fields near the entrance of the Dacey Trail. Signs will be posted.
