Event: The Pet Rescue Run, a 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
Date: May 17, 2026
Location: Columbus County Park, Columbus, MI
Course: An officially timed trail run/walk with 100% grass and dirt trails featuring rocks, roots, and an elevation incline/decline of approximately 55 feet.

Fun Run: Not ready for a 5K? Join the 1 Mile Fun Run option, which is not officially timed with minimal elevation change.
Team Participation: Join as an individual or form a team for friendly competition to be the top fundraiser.
Fundraising: All funds raised go toward supporting animal rescues in Michigan.
Top Fundraiser Incentive: The captain of the top fundraising team will receive a commemorative mug.

Legacy: The event honors JoAnne Aebi, who had an unwavering passion for animals.
Foundation: Proceeds assist the J & J Furry Friend Foundation 501c(3) in supporting Michigan-based animal rescues.
Mission: To provide critical supplies and funding to help animal welfare organizations.
Impact: Participate to carry forward JoAnne's legacy of helping animals in need.

Entry for Prizes: Bring a bag of pet food, dog treats, dog toys, bleach, paper towels, or a pet bed to earn chances to win a $50 Amazon gift card and other fun prizes.
Awards Ceremony: Join us for the announcement of awards for the top male and female finishers, as well as age category prizes after the race.
Finisher Medals: All finishers will receive a medal after the race.
Celebration: Enjoy post-race snacks provided by Marsack and Marshall Real Estate Team, along with cupcakes to celebrate JoAnne's 54th birthday.

Check-in Time: Race check-in is from 9 AM to 10 AM.
Start Times: 5K race begins at 10:30 AM, with the 1 Mile Run/Walk following shortly after.
Dog Policy: Friendly dogs are welcome.
Stroller Policy: Jogging/running strollers are allowed at your own discretion.

Event T-shirts: Participants who register before April 23, 2026, will receive an event t-shirt.
Post-Deadline Availability: For registrations after April 23, t-shirts are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
No Shirt Option: If you do not want a shirt, please select "opt out" or "no shirt" during registration.
