🏃‍♂️ The Derek Dexter Memorial 5K

A 5k in honor of our friend Derek Dexter who passed away suddenly in May of 2024. Derek loved running and promoting the sport of running. This 5k honors Derek in the best way we know how. Participants will receive a t-shirt and finisher award.

🕖 Registration Details

Onsite registration: 7:00-7:45 am at the West Playfield Shelter (next to the Nature Center) in Lake St Clair Metropark, 31300 Metro Pkwy, Harrison Twp, MI 48045.

Registration Start: In honor of Derek’s birthday, registration starts December 28 and the first 28 adult registrations are only $28! Standard pricing is $35 through April 11.

Minors Registration: All minors register for just $25!

Onsite Fee: Onsite registration will increase to $45 and is CASH ONLY.

⚠️ Important Notes

MetroParks Requirement: Please note that a MetroParks pass or a $10 day pass is required to enter Lake Saint Clair MetroPark.

Course Information: This is a stroller and dog friendly race course.

🎓 Scholarship Opportunity

The Derek Dexter Detroit Memorial 5k will be providing scholarships to local high school athletes who are pursuing engineering and have a love of running.
