Race Overview

Have we got a Paul Bunyan-sized adventure for you! Join us for Lumberjack Days 2026, a three-day festival of fun and flannel March 27-29.

Event Details

• Start Time: Silver Dollar Mile at 9:30 a.m. and Flapjack 5K at 10 a.m.
• Location: Outdoor Adventure Center, Detroit, MI.
• Refuel: Enjoy the Lumberjack Pancake Breakfast post-race.
• Perks: Custom medal, lumberjack buff, and OAC entry.

Legendary Challenge

Feeling legendary, and ready for more? Tackle the Lumberjack’s Breakfast! Runners will compete in both the Silver Dollar Mile and the Flapjack 5K, and take home a unique finisher’s medal, plus a lumberjack buff, OAC entry, and enjoy a pancake breakfast.

The Course

• Location: Each event takes place along the Dequindre Cut in Detroit.
• Course Type: Out-and-back course that is flat and fast.
• Parking: Available across from Milliken State Park and Harbor.
• Start Point: Races begin at the Outdoor Adventure Center.

Costume Contests

Wear your finest flannel apparel or sport your best lumberjack beard – prizes will be given for Best Beard and Best Dressed Lumberjack (Adult and Kids’ Division).

Race Options

• Silver Dollar Mile: A 1 mile fun run includes all race swag and pancake breakfast ticket.
• Flapjack 5K: A 3.1 mile run/walk, includes all race swag and pancake breakfast ticket.
• Lumberjack Breakfast: Includes both the 1 mile and 5K runs, unique race swag and pancake breakfast ticket.
• Registration: The race is limited to 350 registrants.

Pricing Information

• Silver Dollar Mile/ Flapjack 5K: Early registration $35 until March 1st, then $40. $45 on race day.
• Lumberjack Breakfast: Early registration $50 until March 1st, then $55. $60 on race day.
• Family Discount: Bring your crew and join in. $3/person discount for families when registering 3 or more at the same time.
• Pancake Breakfast Tickets: Included for race participants: additional tickets available for $5 each.

Awards

Awards to the Top 3 Overall Male and Female Winners and top three ages 18 and under.

Race Day Schedule

• 7:30 a.m. Registration and packet pickup opens.
• 9 a.m. Costume Contests.
• 9:15 a.m. Kids’ Fun Run (no registration needed).
• 9:30 a.m. Silver Dollar Mile starts.
• 10 a.m. Flapjack 5K starts.
• 11 a.m. Awards presentation.

Timing

The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be live at the completion of the race and posted on this page.
