Lumberjack Pancake Run

Event Overview

Have we got a Paul Bunyan-sized adventure for you! Join us for Lumberjack Days 2026, a three-day festival of fun and flannel March 27-29.

Race Details

• Events: Run or walk the Silver Dollar Mile (beginning at 9:30 a.m.) or Flapjack 5K (starting at 10 a.m.)
• Breakfast: Refuel afterward at the Lumberjack Pancake Breakfast.
• Perks: You'll also receive a custom medal, lumberjack buff, OAC entry.
• Feeling legendary: Tackle the Lumberjack’s Breakfast and take home a unique finisher’s medal.

The Course

• Location: Each event takes place along the Dequindre Cut in Detroit.
• Course Type: An out-and-back course that is flat and fast.
• Parking: Available across from Milliken State Park and Harbor.
• Start Point: The races begin at the Outdoor Adventure Center.

Costumes and Prizes

• Dress Code: Wear your finest flannel apparel or sport your best lumberjack beard.
• Prizes: Awards for Best Beard and Best Dressed Lumberjack (Adult and Kids’ Division).
• Guest Tickets: Extra pancake breakfast tickets available for $5 each.
• Family Fun: Friends and family can join the pancake breakfast.

Event Options

• Silver Dollar Mile: A 1 mile fun run with race swag and breakfast ticket included.
• Flapjack 5k: A 3.1 mile run/walk, includes all race swag and breakfast ticket.
• Lumberjack Breakfast: Includes both the 1 mile and 5k runs, unique race swag, and breakfast ticket.
• New in 2026: Participate in both events!

Registration

• Participant Limit: The race is limited to 350 registrants.
• Pricing: Early registration $35 until March 1st, then $40: $45 on race day (for Silver Dollar Mile or Flapjack 5k).
• Amenities: Online registration only, includes race swag.
• Family Discount: $3/person discount for families registering 3 or more at the same time.

Pancake Breakfast

• Inclusion: Pancake breakfast included for race participants.
• Additional Tickets: Available for family and friends for just $5.
• Breakfast Time: Starts at 9:45 AM.

Awards

• Categories: Awards to the Top 3 Overall Male and Female Winners.
• Younger Participants: Top three ages 18 and under.

Race Day Schedule

• 7:30 a.m: Registration and packet pickup opens.
• 9 a.m: Costume Contests.
• 9:15 a.m: Kids’ Fun Run (no registration needed).
• 10 a.m: Flapjack 5k starts.

Timing and Results

The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be live at the completion of the race and posted on this page.
