The Champions Run for Special Children

Event Overview

It's the 12th Anniversary of The Champions Run for Special Children!

It's an awesome superhero-themed, certified 5K run/walk/roll (that also features a 1 mile fun run) to help some of our littlest heroes. Let's get moving!

Dust off your cape and bring some friends to this 5K run/walk/roll benefiting children living with "different-abilities" and special needs! Individual and Team awards will be presented.

Awards and Prizes

Group Prizes

• Family: Largest number of participants in a family group.
• Sorority/Fraternity: Largest number of participants in a sorority or fraternity.
• Business: Largest number of participants from a business.
• School: Largest number of participants from a school.
• Church: Largest number of participants from a church.
• Best Team Costume: Awarded for the best costume worn by a team.
• Most Team Spirited: Awarded for the most spirited team.

Individual Awards - Male & Female

• Overall: 0 - 49 age group.
• Masters: 50+
• Ages 70 & up: Special recognition for this age bracket.
• Age 60 - 69: Recognition for those in this category.
• Age 50 - 59: Recognition for this age group.
• Age 40 - 49: Recognition for this age group.
• Age 30 - 39: Recognition for this age group.
• Age 20 - 29: Recognition for this age group.
• Age 15 - 19: Recognition for this age group.
• Age 10 - 14: Recognition for this age group.
• Age 9 and under: Recognition for this age group.

• Best Costume - Adult Male: Best adult male costume.
• Best Costume - Adult Female: Best adult female costume.
• Best Costume - Child: Best costume for children.

Group Participation

If your GROUP would like to participate, we are utilizing RunSignUp's group option. Please contact Laura Capell through our contact form, or at laura@thechampionscenter.com to set up your group, or you can create your own group through the registration website. Teams of 5 or more will receive a discounted rate of $20 per person.

About The Champions Center

The Champions Center for special children (formerly known as DCEC) provides daily care, critical educational and therapeutic services to children living with different-abilities and special needs. We serve children with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Hydrocephalus, Muscular Dystrophy, Cystic Fibrosis, Genetic Conditions and Developmental Delays.
