Join us for the 13th Annual Run for the Titan Trail 5k/1 Mile Walk/Tot Run!
📍 Course Details
- Location: The chip timed 5K run and 1 mile walk courses will begin at Shaler Area Elementary School and circle through local neighborhood streets, ending back at the school.
- Purpose: The Run for the Titan Trail 5k is a fundraiser to help fund the cost of a year-end reading incentive trip to Millvale Riverfront Park and Three Rivers Heritage Trail for Shaler Area Elementary School students.
- Impact: Free voluntary reading in our school has increased exponentially since the creation of Blazing a Titan Trail: A Reading Adventure.
- Student Goal: Students strive to read 18 books throughout the school year to attend the trip.
📚 Reading Incentive Program
- Program Title: Blazing a Titan Trail: A Reading Adventure is a school-wide reading incentive program at Shaler Area Elementary School.
- School Size: The school serves 1,000 students in grades 4, 5, and 6.
- Development: The program has been developed by a volunteer committee of teachers, librarians, parents, and administrators.
⏰ Event Schedule
- Check-in/Registration: Will begin at 7:45.
- Tot Run Start: The 50-yard tot run will begin at 8:50 am.
- 5K Start: The 5K race will start at 9:00 am and the 1 mile walk will begin directly after.
- Registration Deadline: Please register by April 7 to receive a t-shirt (limited numbers and sizes of t-shirts will be available after this date).
