2025 Veterans VA5K

Event Overview

Join us for the 10th annual Veterans VA5K on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at 1pm in Lexington.

Our in-person event will take place at the Lexington VA Health Care System Franklin R. Sousley Campus. We will also have a virtual option for those who can't join us in person on November 2nd.

Beneficiaries

• Support: Our race will benefit the Lexington VA Medical Center Volunteer Program and the Lexington Fisher House, which provides lodging for the families of veterans being treated at the medical center.
• Sponsors: The Lexington Division of Community Corrections and Columbia Gas of Kentucky and its NiVets employee resource group are presenting and coordinating sponsors of the event.

Race Features

• Course: Closed, relatively flat 5K course on paved surface the VA Medical Center Campus
• Timing: Chip timed race (Thanks RaceRise)
• Awards: Overall & Age Group Awards
• Prizes: Special AUSA Military Cash Prizes (see categories below)

Event Details and Schedule

• Packet Pickup: Race packets, including numbered bibs and T-shirts, can be picked up Friday, October 31st from 3:00-5:00pm under the RaceRise tent near the flagpole in front of the VA Center, and at the same location from 10:30am-12:30pm on race day. Virtual participants will receive their packet by U.S. mail.
• Awards: We will have awards for the Top 3 M/F Overall Finishers as well as the Top 3 M/F finishers in multiple age divisions.
• Race Day Schedule: Registration and packet pickup will be from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Sousley campus. Activities for participants and their families will begin at 12:30 p.m. The timed race will begin at 1 pm. The awards ceremony and door prize presentations will begin at 2 pm or as soon as times are tabulated.
• Refreshments: Coffee and hot chocolate will be available for registered participants before the race. Refreshments will be provided post-race.

• JROTC Female: 1st $50, 2nd $25
• Senior ROTC Male: 1st $50, 2nd $25

Parking and Facilities

• Location: Parking and restrooms will be available at the Sousley campus.
• Virtual Results: Virtual results can be submitted online at RESULTS.
