2025 Veterans VA5K

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

Join us for the 10th annual Veterans VA5K on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at 1pm in Lexington.

Our in-person event will take place at the Lexington VA Health Care System Franklin R. Sousley Campus. We will also have a virtual option for those who can't join us in person on November 2nd.

Our race will benefit the Lexington VA Medical Center Volunteer Program and the Lexington Fisher House, which provides lodging for the families of veterans being treated at the medical center. The Lexington Division of Community Corrections and Columbia Gas of Kentucky and its NiVets employee resource group are presenting and coordinating sponsors of the event.

• Course: Closed, relatively flat 5K course on paved surface the VA Medical Center Campus
• Timing: Chip timed race (Thanks RaceRise)
• Awards: Overall & Age Group Awards

📅 Event Details and Schedule

Packet Pickup: Race packets, including numbered bibs and T-shirts, can be picked up Friday, October 31st from 3:00-5:00pm under the RaceRise tent near the flagpole in front of the VA Center and at the same location from 10:30am-12:30pm on race day. Virtual participants will receive their packet by U.S. mail.

Awards: We will have awards for the Top 3 M/F Overall Finishers as well as the Top 3 M/F finishers in the following age divisions: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.

The following are the cash awards that will be distributed during this year’s event for eligible participants:

• JROTC Male: 1st $50, 2nd $25
• JROTC Female: 1st $50, 2nd $25
• Senior ROTC Male: 1st $50, 2nd $25
• Senior ROTC Female: 1st $50, 2nd $25
• Largest Group: $150
• 2nd Largest group: $100
• Fastest Army Recruiting male/female: 2 x $50
• Fastest Army Reserve male/female: 2 x $50
• Fastest National Guard male/female: 2 x $50

📋 Race Day Schedule

Registration and Packet Pickup: will be from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Sousley campus. Activities for participants and their families will begin at 12:30 p.m. The timed race will begin at 1 pm. The awards ceremony and door prize presentations will begin at 2 pm or as soon as times are tabulated. Coffee and hot chocolate will be available for registered participants before the race. Refreshments will be provided post-race.
