🎉 Event Overview
- Hosts: Cairn University Athletics and RUN 12:1 Running Club are excited to once again host the Rock Your Socks 5K run/walk for Down Syndrome.
- Significance: World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is celebrated every year on March 21st (3/21) as individuals with Down syndrome have 3 copies of the 21st chromosome.
- Dress Code: Participants are encouraged to wear the craziest, most colorful (or mismatched) socks to help raise awareness.
- Date coincidence: This year’s race coincides with WDSD, making the event even more special!
🏅 New Features for 2026
- Medals: RACE MEDALS will be awarded to all runners, moving away from the traditional race shirt.
- Crazy Socks Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to participants with the craziest socks at the live event.
- Scholarship Fund: Proceeds will benefit the Cairn Student Scholarship Fund for students working with special needs individuals.
- Registration: Register now for either the 5K or the family-friendly 1-mile fun run, with a virtual option available for those who cannot attend in person.
