Life in Color 5K

🎉 Event Overview

This is a 5K fund raiser for Grand Valley Oncology. This year we are raising money for our Survivorship program. Supportive Oncology & Survivorship Care provides programs for mind and body health. Free classes are available to all cancer patients and their caregivers. Current opportunities include yoga, tai chi, walking, nutrition and supportive groups.

🏃‍♀️ Course Details

• Course Composition: The 5K course is composed of 2 and half loops around the perimeter of the Community Hospital and includes a mix of road, sidewalk and gravel path.
• Accessibility: We want to make this event fun for all ages and accessible to all ability groups.
• Participation Options: Participants have the option to signup for the timed 5K or the Fun Run/Walk. Both options are the same course.
• Timing: Timed 5K participants receive a timing chip on their bib and will be lined up in the first wave of the race. Fun Run participants will not receive a bib and can take the course at their own pace.

🎨 Activities

After the timed 5K or during the Fun Run/Walk we will have a paint hug station where participants can paint their hands and arms and give another participant a hug so that it leaves a hug mark on the white race shirts. We will also have a rock painting station. We chose the theme of Life in Color because cancer comes in all different "colors" and we want to fund raise and support cancer patients in living their fullest lives. Colorful costumes encouraged!

📝 Registration

• Opening Date: OPENS February 2025 – $35 Regular (before 4/24), $45 (Race Day)
• T-shirt Sizes: We stop collecting t-shirt sizes on April 7th. Register before 4/7 to guarantee getting a t-shirt in your preferred size.

📅 Event Schedule

• Friday 4/25: 4:30-6:30pm – Packet Pickup (First floor waiting room at Grand Valley Oncology)
• Saturday 4/26 (8am - 1pm): 8:30-9:45am – Packet Pickup & light Breakfast provided (coffee, fruit & pastries)
• 10am – Timed 5K Start (time cut off for all timed participants is 60 mins)
• 10:05am – Fun Run/Walk Start
• 10-12:30pm – Paint stations open
• 11am – Food Trucks on site
