Race Overview

Come join us at Chiawana Park in Pasco, Washington for the 4th Annual Big River Race.

Date and Distance Options

• Date: Saturday, May 29th, 2027
• Distances: Half Marathon, 10k, 5k & FREE Fun 1 Mile
• Scenic Route: Run along one of Eastern Washington's biggest landmarks, the Columbia River.
• Accessibility: This race offers you four different options: a distance for everyone in the family, group of friends or coworkers.

Course Details

• Course Type: The course will be flat & fast!
• Start/End Point: The race will start & end at the west end of the park.
• Paved Path: All race distances are on a paved path and along the riverfront.
• Origin of Name: Chiawana is a Native word for “Big River.”

• Cultural Importance: The Columbia River has provided this region's culture and economy for thousands of years.
• Largest River: It is the largest river in the Pacific Northwest.
• Irrigation: This Big River irrigates more than 6,000,000 acres of agricultural land.
• Community Impact: Agriculture is a huge part of our community and is possible because of this valuable water source.
