🏃♂️ A Healthy KSU 3K and Health Fair 2025
On Saturday August 23, 2025, DMTL Nonprofit Organization will host A Healthy KSU 3K. Our vision is to decrease the health disparities within and among African American communities, bridging gaps to help achieve Health Equity!
👥 About the Founder
- Tyrie Nason Buchanan: Kentucky State University alumnus and founder of A Healthy KSU and DMTL.
- Mission: Highlight healthy lifestyles while promoting inclusivity for the African American community.
- 501c3 Nonprofit: Focused on health equity and mentorship, named in memory of family lost to violence.
- A call to action: Addressing health-related issues affecting classmates and alumni.
🤝 Community Partnerships
- Collaboration: Partners include the city of Frankfort, Frankfort Regional Medical Center, and local hospitals.
- Community Support: Collaboration with Kentucky State University and the KSU Alumni Association.
- Fundraising: Events support cancer care, scholarships for KSU students, and community health initiatives.
- Impact: Raising awareness around health disparities faced by the African American community.

- Higher Risk: African Americans face increased risk of chronic diseases and health conditions.
- Awareness: Encouragement for alumni, family, and guests to unite for health awareness.
- Generational Health: Aiming for sustainable health outcomes for future generations.

🎉 Health Fair Activities
Stay after the 3K for A Healthy KSU’s annual Health Fair and enjoy FREE health screenings, FREE food, music and activities, car club display, KSU Football Team Pep Rally, and scholarship and award presentations. FREE health screenings will be available for ALL and will include blood pressure, eye exams, dental, BMI, glucose, etc. Stick around for education awareness discussions as well as giveaways!
