Help STOMP out Alzheimer's and participate in the stoopidest & funnerest run you'll ever do!!

• Event Date: 2025-07-12
• Location: North Lake Park, Stevensville, MI
• Race Type: 5kish run through deerfly infested woods of Grand Mere State Park.
• Purpose: Raise $$$ to help fight Alzheimer's disease.

🏆 Participation Details

Catch deer flies with a Tred- Not Deerfly Patch and raise $$$ to help fight Alzheimer's disease. Although we hope your time flies with us (see what I did there?), this is not a timed event.

• Winning Criteria: The winner will be determined by who "caught" the most number of deer flies.
• Counting: Yes, we will actually count the deer flies.
• Rules: There are no set in stone rules except you must have deer flies to be in the running to win.
• Prizes: Top 3 collectors will receive prizes!

🎉 Historical Impact

This is year 16 of the Jack Settles Deerfly Stomp!!! (Plus a few years of informal stomping...) Over the past 16 years we have caught approximately 3100 deerflies (plus at least 1 horsefly...grrrr) AND donated over $12,000 to the Alzheimer's Association!

• Comparison: It kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.
• Risk Factors: The lifetime risk for Alzheimer's at age 45 is 1 in 5 for women and 1 in 10 for men.
• Recent Data: Alzheimer's disease was the fifth-leading cause of death among people age 65 and older in 2021.
