"Take a Walk with HUHH" 5K Run/Walk-a-thon

Event Overview

Join us for a Take a Walk with HUHH - 5K Walk/Run-a-Thon!

• Purpose: Empowerment, Unity, and Wellness - step into the stride of positive change with our upcoming event!
• Host: Hosted by Helping Us Help Her (HUHH), a dedicated mentorship program breaking down barriers for young ladies aged 13-18, now expanding to welcome young men.
• Impact: Your support goes a long way in creating a brighter future for the youth in our community.
• Participation: Lace-up your sneakers, bring your friends, family, neighbors, classmates, and co-workers, and let's stride together toward a healthier, happier, and more empowered tomorrow. This is a Timed race.

Pre-Packet Pickup

• Location: HUHH Office from NOON-6PM, 410 NW 11th St, Grand Prairie TX 75050

Volunteer Opportunities

• Packet Pickup: Help at the HUHH Office on Friday, May 29th from NOON-6PM.
• Aid Station: Provide water to participants as they pass by, keep the course clean by picking up discarded items.
• Course Monitor: Maintain a safe course by redirecting traffic and guiding participants in the right direction.
• Encouragement: Feel free to bring pom poms, horns, music, instruments, signs, etc. to cheer on runners. Bonus for creative costumes!

Group Awards

• Biggest Group Award: 10 or more to a group to receive the biggest group award!

Awards

• Categories: Male and Female Overall awards.
• Top Finishers: Top 3 Male and Female for 1st and 2nd place awards.
• Packet Pickup: Anyone can pick up your packet. Maximum of 6 packets per pick up. Preregister on your personal device before arriving at Packet Pickup.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

• General Policy: All Lace Up Running events proceed rain or shine or snow or cold. We have a strict no refund policy.
• Weather Delays: In the event of extreme weather, the start time may be delayed by up to half an hour, or the course may be shortened or altered for safety.
• Cancellation: If conditions become unsafe (lightning, ice), the event may be cancelled at the discretion of the Race Director.
• Understanding: Thank you for your understanding of these policies, and we appreciate your participation.

Participation Alternatives

If you are unable to participate in the event, or if it is canceled, you can still receive your packet, shirt, and medal, and you can run the race on your own time and course. See our virtual race information for complete details.
