Please join us at Payson Park in Portland for a fundraising walk/run around Back Cove to support Maine Needs!

🏢 About Maine Needs

Maine Needs is a community fueled donation center based in Portland. We are calling on local runners and walkers to join us in supporting the critical need for basic material goods for individuals and families throughout Maine.

🎉 Creative Participation

Race participants are encouraged to highlight basic needs in whatever creative way they want to!

• Creativity: This can be wearing your underwear and bra on the outside of your clothes, wearing funny socks, or whatever you can think of!
• Judging: Guest judges Ron Currie Jr. & Richard Russo will award prizes for the most creative expression.

🍔 Food Options

Grab food from Meet on the Street or Barry Larry's food trucks! Or a sweet snack and coffee from Katie Made Bakery!

🧴 Donations for Summer Requests

Encourage those cheering you on to bring bottles of items for us to fill Summer requests!

• Needed Items: Tick spray, sunblock, deodorant and bars of soap.

🎨 Fun Activities

There will be free face painting for kids, music by DJ Deep, Maine Needs merch for sale and a photo contest!

• Photo Contest: Snap a photo in front of our backdrop, share on Instagram or Facebook and tag @maineneeds.
• Prize: You'll be automatically entered to win a Maine Needs SeaBag!

📅 Event Schedule

• 8:00 AM: Check-in opens
• 9:00 AM: Breathing & stretching with Greener Postures Yoga
• 9:05 AM: Walk/run starts!
• 10:15 AM: Costume contest judging & prizes

🎁 Fundraising

Start a fundraiser when you register, share with friends & family via text, social media & email! Encourage them to donate to help raise more funds and make this event a success. The top fundraiser will win a Maine Needs SeaBag!

⚠️ Important Notes

• Timing: This race is NOT timed. All are welcome whether they walk or run!
• T-Shirt Deadline: In order to receive a t-shirt, registration must be completed by May 1st, 2025.
• Virtual Participants: Virtual Walk participants will NOT receive a t-shirt and will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a Maine Needs Sea Bag!
