• Event: Join us for the 8th Annual A Walk in Her Shoes
• Purpose: A powerful 2-mile community cancer awareness walk hosted by My Sister’s Keeper–Cleveland.

🤝 Partnership & Community Support

• New Partnership: This year’s walk will take place on the inspiring campus of Case Western Reserve University.
• Support: Honored to have Councilman Kevin Conwell join us for the third consecutive year.
• Engagement: The My Sister’s Keeper CWRU Chapter helps advance our mission through campus and community engagement.
• Celebration: A joyful celebration of strength, healing, and sisterhood.

🎉 Event Highlights

• Live Performance: Led by Da Land Brass Band.
• Optional Participation: Walking is optional: guests can enjoy live music, line dancing, local vendors, and health resources.
• Event Schedule:
  • 10:30 AM – Registration
  • 11:00 AM – Opening Remarks & Announcements
  • 12:00 PM – 2-Mile Walk
  • 1:00 PM – Final Announcements & Celebration

  • Community Resource Fair with local partners
  • Vendor Market featuring local small businesses
  • Live Entertainment & Line Dancing

• Fundraising Teams: Start a team and raise funds to support My Sister’s Keeper’s mission!
• Incentives: Teams raising $100 or more receive a custom team banner for the walk.

• Cultural Tradition: Second line is a tradition from New Orleans’ African American communities.
• Symbolism:
  • Umbrellas & Parasols: Spiritual covering and protection
  • Handkerchiefs: Waved in joy and remembrance
  • Dancing and Drumming: Expressions of freedom and unity
• Living Tribute: Every step taken in the walk is a statement of survival, strength, and solidarity.
• Community: Together, we walk with purpose and power. We walk for her.
