🐥 Pink Duck 5K - Run/Walk

Race Entry: $30! All participants will receive a medal if paid and registered by 5/15/2025!

Early Bird: $20 April 15th through May 15th, 2025

Children (0-17): $20 - includes participation medal

Children (0-5): Free if no participation medal is requested

Join the Pink Duck 5K! Together, we will race to speak up and positively stop human trafficking in Central Oregon or virtually anywhere! This is a friendly 5K for all ages. Families will have Connection Challenges to help them discuss online safety and safe adults with children and friends to stay safe. After finishing the race, kiddos will turn in their Connection Challenge Cards for prizes at the end. Lefty's will provide a fun after-party for all friends!

🎗️ Join Pink Duck Speak Up!

PROTECT YOUTH FOR A LIFETIME THROUGH AWARENESS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING! Through trafficking prevention presentations, 1 of 10,000 will be reached.

📅 Bend Oregon Event Timeline

• 10:00 AM: Race-day Registration opens, and Packet Pick up opens
• 11:00 AM: The 5K Fun Run/Walk begins and ends at Lifty's. Smaller ducks will collect feathers with "Safety Feathers" to discuss along the route.
• 11:30 AM: Post-race celebration! Turn in your "Safety Feathers" for Pink Duck prizes! Participants will receive a medal if registered to receive it. All participants received a 2-inch rubber duck to help raise awareness for others!

WEAR YOUR PINK! WEAR YOUR PINK! WEAR YOUR PINK! Think pink, think feathers, think big! The best-dressed winner will receive the "Most Spirited Award." Make sure to tag @inourbackyard to show off your outfit AND raise awareness for human trafficking prevention!

🐾 Duck Trail Fun Hunt

Walk, talk, and have fun with family and friends during your trail walk. Children can participate in the Fun Duck Hunt: Collect Duck feathers along the pathway. Each feather has a simple question for families to discuss, keeping families and friends safe. Children who collect feathers can turn them in for a prize at the end of the 5K at Lifty's.

IN OUR BACKYARD, established in 2009, is now a survivor-led (2020) national organization with more than a decade of dedication to the fight against sex and labor trafficking. IOB links arms in the fight against human trafficking by empowering communities to prevent this atrocity and creating access to Freedom for victims of human trafficking (HT). IOB Founder Nita Belles was driven to take action to stop the exploitation of children, women, and men. Her book, In Our Backyard: Human Trafficking in America and What You Can Do to Stop It has been acclaimed as the primer on human trafficking in America. In 2020, Cheryl Csiky, a child-trafficking survivor, joined IOB as Executive Director to further lead the mission and growing needs.
