🏃♂️ Event Overview
The 14th Annual Andrew Monroe Memorial Scholarship 5K Run/Walk takes place on the #1 Rated Siesta Key Beach in beautiful Sarasota, Florida.
- Purpose: The event provides scholarships for further education to Riverview High School Senior Soccer players, JROTC Cadets and Track Athletes.
- Legacy: If there are remaining funds they will continue to grow the Sarasota Community Foundation Scholarship's in Andrew's name.
- Passion: Andrew so LOVED soccer that his parents wanted to keep his legacy of education alive.
- Heart: He also had a heart for the unfortunate.
🍽️ Community Support
- Food Drive: PLEASE BRING A CAN OR TWO OF FOOD FOR MAYORS FEED THE HUNGRY.
- Clothing Drive: AND OLD SHOES AND CLOTHING FOR RESURRECTION HOUSE.
🏆 Event Highlights
The event includes pre-race Starbucks coffee with a color guard and national anthem opening.
- Door Prizes: Following the race stop by the door prize board to see if you won one of our roughly 175 door prizes.
- Trophies: We give trophies to Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, Sr. Grand Masters, Veteran Grand Master as well as 6 deep in each category with 3 deep receiving a medal.
- Age Groups: 5 year age groups to 90 and above.
- Goodie Bags: The goodie bags are filled with pretty awesome goodies as well. ONLY TO THE FIRST 350 registrants.
📅 Pre-Race Information
- Early Packet Pickup: FRIDAY JANUARY 8th 4PM-7PM - NEW BALANCE, 315 Cattleman Rd, Suite 1 - West University District.
- Second Pickup: SATURDAY JANUARY 9th -- 10am to 2pm at NEW BALANCE SARASOTA, 1872 Stickney Point Rd., Sarasota.
- Timing: Per USATF rules, gun time is used to determine prize money winners and time bonus recipients.
- Chip Time: Tag time (chip time) will be used to determine all age-group finishers.
