Goose Pond Frantic Frog Sprint Triathlon and 5k

🏊‍♂️ Race Rescheduling

• Weather Cancellation: Sure to the weather cancellation on May 24th, we have rescheduled the triathlon for August 30th.
• Registration: Anyone already registered for the canceled event is in this one.
• Open Registration: Registration is still opened for anyone wanting to participate on August 30.

🏁 Event Details

• Location: The Goose Pond Island Frantic Frog Sprint Triathlon returns to the Goose Pond Colony Resort, located in Scottsboro, Alabama.
• Discontinuation: Due to the cost of the event and decreasing participation in the Half Iron, we have regretfully decided to discontinue the Half Iron Distance starting in 2025.
• 5k Addition: We have added a 5k Run to the event this year, for those that don't feel challenged to participate in the Triathlon.
• Challenge: It will be the same course as the triathlon run portion. You won’t be required to have a USAT membership for the 5k.

📍 Race Day Information

• Packet Pickup: Friday 5 PM - 7:00 PM & Saturday 6:30-7:30 AM at the grassy area just outside of the Docks Restaurant.
• Parking: Please park on the north side of the pool and not by the transition area.
• Check-In: Participants need to be checked in by 7:30 AM and transition closes at 7:45 AM.

🌊 Race Distances

• Frantic Frog Sprint: The race includes a 500 meter Swim, 14 mile Bike & 5K run beginning at 8 AM Central.
• Swim Start: Swim will start at end of pier with a rectangular course & beach exit. Map Link
• Bike Course: The bike will be an out & back course. Map Link
• Run Route: Run will also be an out and back route into campground & return to finish by transition. Map Link

🎽 Athlete Amenities

• Race Packets: Race packets will include: race t-shirt, water bottle, socks, swim cap (must be worn).
• Finisher Medals: FINISHER MEDALS for all finishers.
• Event Insurance: Bald Eagle Events has enabled event insurance for your consideration in the event you are unable to compete. Please review this option during the registration process.
• USAT Info: All USAT rules apply – Goose Pond Island Half Iron Distance Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event.

🥇 Awards and Age Groups

• Overall Awards: Overall awards for the top three male and female finishers & top male and female masters.
• Age Group Awards: Age group awards for first, second, and third place in various age groups.
• Relay Division: Open Relay Division: Male, Female, and Co-ed.
• No Refund Policy: Bald Eagle Events has a NO REFUND policy. Insurance is available during the registration of each event.

⚠️ Event Cancellation Policy

• Decision Making: If a natural disaster or community disaster occurs, decisions will be based on safety first.
• Course Alteration: Courses and/or race segments will be altered as agreed upon by Bald Eagle Events LLC and local officials.
• Financial Considerations: No refunds or free entries to future races: participants accept the risk of their entry fee.
