Goose Pond Frantic Frog Sprint Triathlon and 5k

🌧️ Rescheduled Date

• Weather Cancellation: Due to the weather cancellation on May 24th, we have rescheduled the triathlon for August 30th. Anyone already registered for the canceled event is in this one.
• Open Registration: Registration is still opened for anyone wanting to participate on August 30.
• New 5k Event: We have opened up another 5k for that date as well. These would be all new registrations, so if you are interested, please sign up today!

🏊‍♂️ Event Overview

• Event Name: The Goose Pond Island Frantic Frog Sprint Triathlon returns to the Goose Pond Colony Resort, located in Scottsboro, Alabama.
• Half Iron Distance Discontinuation: Due to cost of the event and decreasing participation in the Half Iron, we regretfully decided to discontinue this distance starting in 2025.
• 5k Run Addition: We have added a 5k Run to the event this year for those who don't feel challenged to participate in the Triathlon. It will be the same course as the triathlon run portion.
• No Membership Required: You won’t be required to have a USAT membership for the 5k.

📅 Race Day Details

• Packet Pickup: Friday 5 PM - 7:00 PM & Saturday 6:30- 7:30 AM at the grassy area just outside of the Docks Restaurant.
• Parking: Please park on the north side of the pool and not by the transition area.
• Race Day Arrival: If picking up your packet on race day morning, please arrive early to avoid delays. Participants must check in by 7:30 AM and transition closes at 7:45 AM.
• Race Start Time: Frantic Frog Sprint race includes a 500 meter Swim, 14 mile Bike & 5K run beginning at 8 AM Central.

🏁 Race Details

• Swim Course: Swim will start at the end of the pier with a rectangular course & beach exit. Map Link
• Bike Course: The bike will be an out & back course. Map Link
• Run Course: The run will also be an out and back route into the campground & return to finish by transition. Map Link
• 5k Route: The 5k will be the same Run route as the triathlon.

🎽 Athlete Amenities

• Packet Contents: Race packets will include race t-shirt, swim cap (must be worn), and FINISHER MEDALS for all finishers.
• Event Insurance: Bald Eagle Events has enabled event insurance for your consideration in the event you are unable to compete. Please review this option during the registration process.
• USAT Rules: All USAT rules apply. Goose Pond Island Half Iron Distance Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event.
• USAT Membership: A one-day USAT license is $15, and an annual membership is $50, available during registration.

🏆 Awards and Policies

• Age Groups: Awards for top three male and female finishers & top male and female masters, as well as age group awards in specified categories.
• No Refund Policy: Bald Eagle Events has a NO REFUND policy. Insurance is available during registration.
• Transfer Policy: Race entries are non-transferable between individuals.
• Cancellation Policy: If a Natural Disaster occurs, Bald Eagle Events will prioritize safety and make necessary adjustments.
