Goose Pond Frantic Frog Sprint Triathlon and 5k

🏊‍♂️ Event Overview

The Goose Pond Island Frantic Frog Sprint Triathlon returns to the Goose Pond Colony Resort, located in Scottsboro, Alabama on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Note: Due to cost of the event and decreasing participation in the Half Iron, we have regretfully decided to discontinue the Half Iron Distance starting in 2025.

🏃‍♀️ New This Year

• Additional Event: We have added a 5k Run to the event this year, for those that don't feel challenged to participate in the Triathlon.
• Course: It will be the same course as the triathlon run portion.
• No Membership Required: You won’t be required to have a USAT membership for the 5k.

📅 Event Details

• Date: August 30, 2025
• Location: 417 Ed Hembree Drive, Scottsboro, AL
• Packet Pickup: Friday 5 PM - 7:00 PM & Saturday 6:30- 7:30 AM at the grassy area just outside of the Docks Restaurant.
• Parking: Please park on the north side of the pool and not by the transition area.

🚴‍♂️ Race Format

The Frantic Frog Sprint race includes a 500 meter Swim, 14 mile Bike & 5K run beginning at 8 AM Central.

• Swim: Starts at the end of the pier with a rectangular course & beach exit. Map Link

• Run: Out and back route into campground & return to finish by transition. Map Link

🎖️ Athlete Amenities

• Race Packets: Will include race t-shirt, water bottle, socks, swim cap (must be worn).
• Finisher Medals: All finishers will receive a medal.
• Event Insurance: Bald Eagle Events has enabled event insurance for your consideration in the event you are unable to compete.

🛑 Important Policies

• Refund Policy: Bald Eagle Events has a NO REFUND policy.
• Transfer Policy: Race entries are non-transferable between individuals.
• Cancellation Policy: In case of a natural disaster, decisions will be made based on safety first, but there will be NO REFUNDS.

🏅 USAT Information

ALL USAT RULES APPLY – Goose Pond Island Half Iron Distance Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event. USAT officials will referee the event.

All Bald Eagle Events triathlon events are sanctioned by USA Triathlon. A one-day USAT license is $15 and an annual USAT membership is $50. A youth one day or annual USAT license is $10.

🏆 Age Groups and Awards

Overall awards for the top three male and female finishers & top male and female masters. Age group awards for first, second, and third place in the following M & F age groups: 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-55, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over & top 3 Clydesdale & Athena. Open Relay Division: Male, Female, and Co-ed.
