Goose Pond Frantic Frog Sprint Triathlon and 5k

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

The Goose Pond Island Frantic Frog Sprint Triathlon returns to the Goose Pond Colony Resort, located in Scottsboro, Alabama on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Note: Due to cost of the event and decreasing participation in the Half Iron, we have regretfully decided to discontinue the Half Iron Distance starting in 2025.

We have added a 5k Run to the event this year, for those that don't feel challenged to participate in the Triathlon. It will be the same course as the triathlon run portion. You won’t be required to have a USAT membership for the 5k.

We invite all to come enjoy the beauty and challenge awaiting in our host Northern Alabama venue!

📅 Packet Pickup Details

• When: Friday 5 PM - 7:30 PM & Saturday 6:00 - 7:30 AM
• Where: Grassy area just outside of the Docks Restaurant
• Parking: Please park on the north side of the pool and not by the transition area
• Check-in Time: Participants need to be checked in by 6:30 AM and transition closes at 7:45 AM

🏊‍♀️ Race Details

Frantic Frog Sprint race includes a 500 meter Swim, 14 mile Bike & 5K run beginning at 8 AM Central. Swim will start at end of pier with a rectangular course & beach exit. Swim: Map Link - Bike will be an out & back course. Bike: Map Link - Run will also be an out and back route into campground & return to finish by transition. Run: Map Link.

🎁 Athlete Amenities

• Race Packets: Race packets will include race t-shirt, water bottle, socks, swim cap (must be worn)
• Finisher Medals: All finishers will receive medals
• Event Insurance: Bald Eagle Events has enabled event insurance for your consideration in the event you are unable to compete
• USAT Rules: ALL USAT RULES APPLY – Goose Pond Island Half Iron Distance Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event

🏆 Age Groups and Awards

Overall awards for the top three male and female finishers & top male and female masters. Age group awards for first, second, and third place in the following M & F age groups: 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-55, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over & top 3 Clydesdale & Athena. Open Relay Division: Male, Female, and Co-ed.

📜 Policies

• No Refund Policy: Bald Eagle Events has a NO REFUND policy
• Non-transferable: Race entries are non-transferable between individuals
• Event Cancellation: If Natural Disaster or Community Disaster occurs, action steps will be taken based on safety first
• Registration Insurance: Please take advantage of this option should you wish to insure your entry fees
