Break the Limit 5K

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Join us on Sunday, June 1, 2025 for the Break the Limit 5K.

This is the first Annual 5K Race hosted by the H.C. Wilcox National Honor Society Chapter.

Proceeds of the race will be divided between the Wounded Warrior Project (70%) and the H.C. Wilcox National Honor Society (30%).

💪 Health & Wellness Support

We are excited to have Roba Physical Therapy and Wellness from Newington at the race. They will be offering:

• Ice: To reduce inflammation.
• Soft tissue massage: For muscle relaxation.
• Cupping: For muscle recovery.
• Normatec recovery boots: For enhanced blood circulation.

📍 Race Location / Course

The race will begin at Dossin's Beach in Meriden, CT and continue along the Gorge Trail portion of the Meriden Linear Trail. Here are some important details:

• Start Point: Dossin's Beach.
• Course Type: Out-and-back route.
• Water Stop: Provided at the half-way point.
• Scenic Views: Includes scenic views of the Quinnipiac River.

🚗 Parking Information

There is limited parking at the Red Bridge and Dossin's Beach. Overflow parking will be at H.C. Wilcox Technical High School.

🕒 Race Day Schedule

• Registration Opens: 7:15 am
• 5K Start: 8:00 am
• Award Ceremony: To conclude the race.

Awards for the top 3 male and top 3 female finishes will be offered.

Day-of-registration may be offered, but the course is capped at 100 participants.

Timing for the course will be manual (done by stopwatch), based on start time (no electronic timing). Results will be posted via google sheets at the conclusion of the race.
