Norris Ultra Dam Hard Trail Race

🏃‍♂️ NORRIS ULTRA DAM HARD TRAIL RACE

TIME & PLACE:

• Race Start: 25k and 50k races start at 8:00am.
• Location: Starts/Finishes at the pavilion near the Tea Room - Google Maps link here: Norris Dam State Park, Norris, TN.

🚧 COURSE DESCRIPTION:

• Terrain: Both race options will take place on single track trails and jeep roads spanning across both the Norris Dam State Park and Norris Municipal Watershed areas.
• Course Length: The 25k course and 50k course are identical in that the shorter race goes one loop and the 50k two.
• Aid Stations: The races will have multiple aid stations easily accessible by road for spectators and people supporting their runners.
• Time Limits: The 25k option will have a 4:40 time limit and the 50k option will have a 9 hour time limit, with specific conditions for 50k runners.

🏕️ ACCOMMODATIONS:

• Camping: Norris Dam State Park has two campgrounds available with water and electric hook-up and dump stations.
• Cabins: There are rustic cabins and deluxe cabins available for lodging at Norris Dam.
• Additional Lodging: More accommodations are available at Exit 122 at I-75 and Andersonville Hwy 61 junction.

💰 REGISTRATION AND FEES:

• Registration Fees: Fees are outlined on the registration page, with KTC member discount accepted.

🏆 TTT SERIES AWARDS:

• Awards: Top 3 in each division will receive free race entries.
• Drawing: Two lucky runners will get a pair of shoes, thanks to Runners Market.
• Eligibility: Members must volunteer twice during the trail race season to qualify for series awards.

👕 T-SHIRTS:

• Limited Editions: Special limited edition T-shirts will be printed for the series.
• One Per Runner: One shirt per runner PER SEASON to minimize expenses for donations to trail-friendly causes.

🏅 SPECIAL FINISHER AWARD:

• Medals: A deluxe finisher's medal will be presented to all who finish either the 25k or 50k.

📉 SPECIAL SERIES AWARDS:

• Point System: Points will be awarded for overall finish (and volunteerism) at each TTT Series race.
• Grand Prizes: Overall top male and female winners will receive valuable prizes from sponsors.
• Volunteer Requirement: Must be a current KTC member and volunteer at a minimum of two events to qualify for series awards.

⚠️ COURSE ETIQUETTE:

• Disqualification: Unsportsmanlike conduct or abusive behavior towards volunteers may result in disqualification.
• Prohibited Items: No headsets, earphones, bicycles, baby strollers, roller blades, or pets on the course.

🛡️ SAFETY:

• Hydration: Aid and water stations will be available, but runners are urged to carry their own water.
• Insect Sensitivity: Runners sensitive to insect stings or bites should carry their own medication.
• Training: Everyone is encouraged to do some pre-race training offroad.

⚠️ SAFETY POLICY CLARIFICATION:

• Age Requirement: Runners under 12 must be accompanied by an adult to run the adult race.
• Pace Enforcement: An 18:00/mile minimum pace will be enforced, and each race will have a sweeper.

🎟️ DON'T TAKE A BIB IF YOU'RE NOT RUNNING:

• Safety Concern: Taking a bib indicates you are running: if you do not finish, we need to ensure your safety.
• Dropping Out: If you have to drop out of the race, please inform race officials.

• Weather Monitoring: The race will be monitored for hazardous weather conditions pre-event.
• Possible Changes: Start times, course alterations, or cancellations may occur based on weather conditions.
