In Memory of Coach Mike Novak

• Legacy: This year marks the second season that the Grosse Pointe South T&F programs will be without our longtime, beloved coach, Mike Novak, who passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
• Dedication: Mike was a true Blue Devil, dedicated to the sport of running and passionate about helping young athletes become the best version of themselves.
• Impact: A long-time educator and coach, he impacted the lives of countless individuals. He was a true hero.
• Honoring: Mike was also a fantasy author of three novels (“Wandering Wizard” series), often called “Gandalf.” This meet is our humble attempt to honor his legacy.

About the Walk

• Event: The 1 Mile Walk will take place prior to the 2nd Annual Wandering Wizard Track and Field Invitational.
• Purpose: Join us in remembrance and to support the fight against pancreatic cancer.
• Community: This event is a great way to come together as a community and celebrate Mike's life and impact.
