About Schools Offer Support (SOS)
Mission: SOS is a nonprofit organization serving the Birmingham Public Schools community through outreach, financial support, and volunteer activities.
Founded: Established in 2008 by parents to foster a stronger community through acts of kindness.
Fundraising: The annual race is the biggest fundraiser to support various community needs.

Community Impact
Support Requests: 63 requests for support from families in nearly all BPS schools.
Financial Assistance: Provided over $30,000 for medical, utility, groceries, childcare, and clothing bills.
Food Assistance: Assembled and provided 135 non-perishable food bags for families during school breaks.
Scholarships: Provided $11,000 in scholarships to 2025 graduating seniors through the SOS Laptop Scholarship.
Awards
Categories: Top three Male and Female 9 years and Under, 10-14 age groups for 1 Mile.
Overall Winners: Overall Male and Female for the 5K.
Student Awards: Top Male and Female student from each BPS school for both distances.
Age Group Awards: Various age group awards for the 5K, including top awards for each decade.
Event Logistics
T-shirt Pickup: Available for pick up in person only; cannot be mailed.
Parking: Limited parking at Beverly Park; additional parking available at Beverly Elementary.
Packet Pickup: Race Day packet pickup opens at 8:00 am at the Beverly Park Pavilion.
Early Packet Pickup: Saturday, September 25th from 10 am - 12 pm at Seaholm High School near the pool doors.
