Hawaii Kai Ultra Run - Kalama Valley 2025

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

The 2025 Hawaii Kai Ultra Run will be held on December 20 & 21, 2025 (Saturday & Sunday): one week after the Honolulu Marathon (12/14/2025).

📍 Check-In and Location

The CHECK-IN and START/FINISH is at Kalama Valley Park located at 555 Kealahou St. in Hawaii Kai near Sandy Beach.

• Parking: Street PARKING where available along Kealahou St.
• Bus Route: BUS ROUTE #23 stops at Bus Stop ID #288 across from the Check-In tent at Kealahou St. and Mokuhano St. For more information, please visit The Bus website.

🏅 Distance Options

Choose your distance: Half Marathon, 30K, Marathon, 50K, 50 Miles, 100K or 100 Miles.

• Course: The Hawaii Kai Ultra Run KV route is a 3.34-mile loop (3 loops is 10 miles).
• Route Details: From the start, runners head mauka on Kealahou St. until the turnaround at Kealahou St. and Ipuai St.
• Markings: Turnaround points will be clearly marked with cones and signs.

⏰ Start Times

Choose your START TIME:

• Wave Options: Selections may be made when registering for Half Marathon, 30K, and Marathon distances.
• Saturday: 12/20/2025 - 6am Wave, 7pm Wave
• Sunday: 12/21/2025 - 6am Wave
• Custom Start: You can start at your own time at the tent, but must start before noon on Saturday.

⚠️ Important Information

IMPORTANT: If you are planning to arrive early in the morning (before sunrise), please be quiet. The route is in a residential neighborhood, and many residents are still sleeping. Mahalo in advance!

Please Note: The race price increases by $5.00 on 12/1/2025.

💧 Hydration and Supplies

• Hydration: Water, ice, and snacks will be provided at the Start/Finish tent.
• Sustainability: Please bring a reusable water receptacle to reduce waste. HKUR aims to be "cupless" in 2026.
• Restrooms: Available 24 hours at the Start/Finish tent.

🥇 Finisher Rewards

Certificates, medals, and stickers will be awarded to all registered finishers. HKUR 2025 Finisher shirts will be available for purchase for $25 at registration by 12/1/2025. A limited supply of HKUR shirts may be available for purchase on race day for $30. No shows will forfeit all Finisher branded materials.

🏅 Additional Notes

• Qualifier: This event is a 50 States Marathon Club qualifier and will count towards your totals.
• Eligibility: Completing a 50-mile, 100K or 100-mile HKUR run will qualify you for any HURT race.
