Join Acorn Dentistry For Kids for our second annual 5k Fun Run & Walk at Riverfront City Park as we come together to raise money for Acorn Kids International Charities and Every Child.

🌍 Acorn Kids International Charities

While Dr. Tim was visiting rural Kenya in 2007, he was impressed by how happy the people are and how quick they are to smile, despite having very few, if any, material possessions. They have big hearts and big smiles with a strong sense of community. But Dr. Tim also remembers the children with large dental abscesses with facial swellings, with no means to travel to the nearest dentist several hours away.

• Healthcare Access: With little to no access to healthcare, 1 in 25 children die before the age of 5.
• Educational Support: Currently, this is happening through sponsoring children to attend secondary school.
• Future Plans: AKIC intends to include healthcare services, especially dentistry, as it grows.
• Community Impact: The next phases will involve helping parents obtain vocational training and microloans.

🤝 About Every Child

Every Child Oregon mobilizes the community to care for kids and families impacted by foster care. There are roughly 5,000 children experiencing foster care in Oregon and not nearly enough homes to care for them.

• Community Involvement: Every Child invites the community to bring whatever they have to the table.
• Volunteer Opportunities: We encourage volunteering time, meeting needs, and donating to support foster care.
• Impact on Children: Children often bounce from home to home, compounding their trauma.
• Making a Difference: We believe that everyone can do something to help.
