Join Acorn Dentistry For Kids for our second annual 5k Fun Run & Walk at Riverfront City Park as we come together to raise money for Acorn Kids International Charities and Every Child.

🌍 About Acorn Kids International Charities

• Origin: While Dr. Tim was visiting rural Kenya in 2007, he was impressed by how happy the people are and how quick they are to smile, despite having very few, if any, material possessions.
• Healthcare Challenges: But Dr. Tim also remembers the children with large dental abscesses with facial swellings, with no means to travel to the nearest dentist several hours away.
• Educational Support: Currently this is happening through sponsoring children to attend secondary school, which is privatized in Kenya.
• Future Goals: The next possible phases will include helping parents of impoverished children obtain vocational training or microloans to start a small business.

• Community Mobilization: Every Child Oregon mobilizes the community to care for kids and families impacted by foster care.
• Foster Care Statistics: There are roughly 5,000 children experiencing foster care in Oregon and not nearly enough homes to care for them.
• Impact of Foster Care: This results in children bouncing from home to home or being separated from their siblings, all of which compounds the trauma.
• Community Involvement: Every Child invites the community to bring whatever they have to the table- by volunteering their time, meeting a tangible need, donating, or becoming a foster parent.

👟 Event Details

• All Ages: Walkers and runners welcome! We are stroller and kid-friendly.
• Registration: All ages are required to register as a participant.
• Trail Rules: No dogs allowed on the running trail.
