Labor Your Legs 5K Fun Run/Walk in Memory of Dave and Marcia Provorse

🏃‍♂️ Event Details

Join us for the FREE 17th Annual Labor Your Legs Fun Run and Walk. Labor Day (Sept. 1, 2025) is a great way to start your fitness journey for the Fall. This year the Sunflower Striders Running Club will partner with the Washburn University Foundation to honor Professor Dave Provorse and his wife, Marcia Provorse. Dave and Marcia embraced life to the fullest and were passionate about inspiring others to prioritize health and wellness in countless ways. Join us as we come together to celebrate their remarkable lives!

💰 Donations and Fundraising

• Purpose: Any donations from this race will be used to purchase a memorial statue placed on the Shunga Trail in honor of Dave and Marcia.
• Additional Fund: The remaining donations will go towards the Provorse Educational fund at Washburn, which provides scholarships to students in the Psychology department.
• How to Donate: Just look for the "Donate" button or go to the bottom of the page and click on donate.

🏅 Race Details

• Location: The run will start and end at the SRWC (Student Recreation and Wellness Center) on Washburn University.
• Course: Participants will run northeast and then circle the campus before finishing where they started.
• Start Time: The run will start at 8 am and check-in will open at 7:30.
• Refreshments: Stay afterwards and enjoy some light refreshments. We look forward to seeing you there!
