Dogwood Classic 5K Run/Walk

• Date: Saturday, May 2, 2026
• Time: 8:00 am - 5K starts, Kids Mile at 7:30 am
• Location: Cherokee Boulevard
• Parking: West parking lot - 2250 Cherokee Boulevard

Course Description and Highlights

• Certification: USATF Certified
• Type: Loop course
• Start/Finish: Beginning and ending at the west parking lot

Packet Pick Up

• Early Pickup: Wednesday, April 29, 5pm-7pm at Runner’s Market in Bearden
• Race Day: 6:15am-7:45am

Registration & Entry Fee

• Early Bird Pricing: Until January 31 - $25
• Standard Registration: February 1 - April 8 - $30
• Late Registration: April 9 - April 26 - $35
• Race Day: $40: ages 17 and under is $25 until April 15, then $35

T-shirts

• Type: Unisex sized t-shirts for registrants
• Availability: Pre-registered runners through April 21 will receive them at early packet pick up or on race day
• New Shirt Policy: After April 21, shirts available while supplies last
• No Re-orders: Once inventory runs out, there will be no more shirts

Awards

• Categories: Awards to the top 3 Overall, age groups, and specialty categories
• Top Masters: Fastest person age 40 and above
• Grandmasters: Fastest person age 50 and above
• Senior Grandmasters: Fastest person age 60 and above

Grand Prix Points Team Competition

• Event: The Dogwood Classic is on the 2026 Team Competition schedule
• Points: Awarded to winners in various categories and age groups
• Eligibility: Participants must be KTC members and volunteer for at least 3 KTC races

Post Race Refreshments

• Offerings: Assorted refreshments provided post race in the event tent

Race Etiquette

• Restrictions: No roller blades, strollers, bicycles, or dogs allowed on the course
• Course Closure: 5K course closes in 1 hour and 15 minutes
• Headphones: KTC discourages the use of headphones at events
