Dr. Dennis Branch 5K Run/Walk

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

This 5K Run will benefit the Tennessee Picnic in honor of the late Dr. Dennis Branch who was a prominent African American Physician in Newport TN for nearly 50 Years. Dr. Branch became nationally known as a guest of honor in Hollywood on the Ralph Edwards Television Show "This Is Your Life" in 1958. Dr. Branch passed away in 1964 leaving his legacy as a prominent Physician. He was 77 years of age at the time of his death.

🏁 Course Details

The 5K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday August 9, 2025. Runners and walkers will proceed onto the streets of Rankin Rd, making a turn around on Rankin Rd. ending back into the Park for a total of 3.1 miles. Signs will mark the route.

• Registration Time: 6:30 a.m. - 7:15 a.m.
• Start Time: 7:30 a.m.
• Chip Timing: The event will be chip timed by Trojan Timing.
• Family Event: This is an event for all ages, so bring the whole family!
