🎉 Intro:

This is a benefit 5k for the Ligonier Borough Volunteer Fire Company. All proceeds go directly to them. We are excited to bring this race back to the Ligonier area for the 4th year to kick-off the start of 2026. We want everyone to have a good time while starting the year healthy. Hope you join us for a great race experience.

🎽 Bib/Shirt Pickup:

This will be at the trailhead at the far end of the football field where the finish line will also be.

🛣️ Course Information:

The race is an out and back course starting in front of Weller Field, marked by a yellow "Watch Children" sign. You will run the Ligonier Valley Trail, crossing two roads with volunteers stopping traffic. There will be a water stop at the trailhead. Please dress for unpredictable January weather.

💲 Pricing:

• Early Registration: $20 until December 7th, 6 PM.
• Standard Registration: $25 until January 3rd, 1 PM.
• Day of Registration: $30 till 9:50 AM.
• Children Registration: Free for kids 10 and under, must pay $10 on race day.

🏆 Awards:

Awards for top 3 M & F overall, top 3 in each age group for the run and walk. Age groups are: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Awards will not be mailed.

⏰ Schedule for the Race:

• 9:00 AM: Registration opens (possibly earlier)
• 9:50 AM: Registration closes
• 10:00 AM: Race starts
• 11:05 AM: Race ends (must be across mats by this time)

🏨 Accommodations:

Please reach out ahead of time for any specific accommodations needed.

🚶‍♂️ Walk Division:

Awards for top 3 overall Male and Female in the walk division, must finish within the 1:05 time frame. No running is allowed.

📝 Registration:

Registration opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 9:50 AM. Race starts at 10:00 AM sharp. Must be across mats at 11:05 AM to qualify for awards.

🏅 What's Included:

Custom race bib, chip finish timing, post-race snacks, and a custom unisex t-shirt (if ordered before December 7th at 6 PM).

📊 Results:

Results will be posted online after the race at www.smileymiles.com. Please allow 24 hours for results to be fully posted.

💧 Food/Liquids:

Water will be available at the midway point and finish line, along with post-race snacks.

🚗 Parking:

Please park as you would for a game or to use the playground. Avoid the lower end parking lot if leaving before awards.

📜 Rules:

Children under 10 must be supervised, pets must be leashed and friendly, no smoking, alcohol, or drug use is permitted.

🤝 Refund/Cancellation Policy:

No refunds or transfers are offered. The event will proceed unless a state of emergency is declared.

👕 Shirt Policy:

The shirt deadline is firm on December 7th at 6 PM. T-shirts are a $10 add-on.

⏱️ Timing:

Gun timing with chip finish. Ensure bibs are worn on the front for accurate timing.

Please respect the trail and fellow participants. Photo opportunities will be available near the start.
