🎤 Event Overview

Join us January 18, 2026 for the inaugural Boy Band 5K presented by the Sophia Strong Foundation. The day will be filled with music, dancing, entertainment, and a great 5K run/walk.

💖 About Sophia

Sophia was a beautiful, bubbly and smart little girl born on January 22, 2014. She was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) at 9 years old - on April 23, 2023. Over nearly 2 years, Sophia endured:

• 1 Ovary Tumor Removal: She faced significant surgical challenges.
• Chemotherapy: 9 rounds of treatment were given.
• Bone Marrow Biopsies: 12 procedures conducted.
• Transfusions: 47 blood and 108 platelet transfusions were necessary for her care.

Sophia's leukemia was unfortunately so aggressive that it returned as a more aggressive mutation. Sadly, the leukemia took her away on December 3, 2024 - less than a week from her relapse date.

🌈 The SophiaStrong Foundation

The SophiaStrong Foundation was formed in 2025 by Sophia's mom and dad in order to continue Sophia's legacy and fight for other children affected by a cancer diagnosis. The Foundation's mission is to:

• Support Research: Focus on finding less toxic treatments for children.
• Fund Resources: Provide resources and programs that help kids and families navigate cancer treatment.
• Raise Awareness: Advocate for pediatric cancer research and support.
• Community Support: Unite families affected by childhood cancer.

• Pre-Race Packet Pickup: Friday January 16, 2026, 4:00pm to 6:30pm.

• Race Day Location: Vista View Park, 4001 SW 142nd Ave, Davie, FL, 33330
• Gates Open: 6:00am
• Registration Open: 6:15am
• Music Begins: 6:30am
• 5K Warm Up: 7:00am

• National Anthem and Announcements: 7:25am
• Start of the Boy Band 5K: 7:30am
• Cotton Candy Service Opens: 8:00am
• Dancing and Party with DJ Petey: 8:25am
• Awards Ceremony: 8:40am
