6th Annual South Gulf Cove CCT Furry Scurry 5K (Feb. 21st 2026 8am)

🐶 Welcome to the Race

The Conservancy and Community Trust of South Gulf Cove would like to welcome you to our 6th Annual South Gulf Cove CCT Furry Scurry 5K Walk/Run. All ages are welcome to join us for this Dog-Friendly Walk/Run in the South Gulf Cove Community.

🐕 Course Information

There will be a special 1.5-mile course for those Dog Walkers that feel the 3.1-mile course is a little too much for the pups. We are excited to be able to put on this Chip Timed event to benefit our local Animal Shelters and Rescues. The proceeds will be donated to the following:

• Englewood Animal Shelter (EARS)
• Suncoast Humane Society Englewood
• The German Shepherd Rescue in Punta Gorda
• The Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida

🍔 Post-Race Celebration

We will be grilling up some free hotdogs and supplying some brews after this event to celebrate all the participants. There will be raffles and silent auctions with some great prizes, so bring some extra cash. We will also offer a Virtual version of this race for our Furry Friend lovers from out of the area. Because this Race is a fundraiser, there will be no Refunds.

🕗 Race Day Schedule

• Packet Pick-up: Race Morning starting at 6:30 AM
• Early Packet Pick-up: Friday, 2/20 from 5-8 PM at 14859 Ingraham Blvd, Port Charlotte FL 33981
• Runners Start: Promptly at 8:00 AM
• 5K Walkers: Will follow the runners

🏅 Awards and Recognition

Event Information: 5K Chip timed Walk/Run includes a race t-shirt, custom chipped bib, and participation medal. The top 3 in all categories will take home an award:

• Categories: Overall, Masters (40+), Grandmasters (50+), Senior Grandmasters (60+), Veteran Grandmasters (70+)
• Age Groups: 9 and under to 80+

💰 Registration Fees

• 5K: $30.00 before Nov. 30th
• 5K: $35.00 before Jan. 4th
• 5K: $40.00 after Jan. 4th
• Mutt Strut: $25.00 before Jan. 4th, $30.00 after Jan. 4th

🐾 Additional Information

5k Discount for Running Clubs and Children under 18: $5.00 off. Virtual Event - This event is done at your leisure. We will mail a finisher medal and t-shirt for those who sign up.
