6th Annual South Gulf Cove CCT Furry Scurry 5K (Feb. 21st 2026 8am)

Event Overview

The Conservancy and Community Trust of South Gulf Cove would like to welcome you to our 6th Annual South Gulf Cove CCT Furry Scurry 5K Walk/Run. All ages are welcome to join us for this Dog-Friendly Walk/Run in the South Gulf Cove Community.

Course Information

• Distance Options: There will be a special 1.5-mile course for those Dog Walkers that feel the 3.1-mile course is a little too much for the pups.
• Chip Timed: We are excited to be able to put on this Chip Timed event to benefit our local Animal Shelters and Rescues.
• Beneficiaries: Proceeds will be donated to local shelters including Englewood Animal Shelter (EARS) and Suncoast Humane Society.
• Grilling and Celebrating: We will be grilling up some free hotdogs and supplying some brews after the event to celebrate all the participants.

Event Details

• Date & Time: The race will be held on Feb. 21, 2026, at 8:00am.
• Location: 14859 Ingraham Blvd, South Gulf Cove, Port Charlotte, FL.
• Packet Pick-up: Race morning starting at 6:30am: Early packet pick-up on Friday, Feb. 20, from 5-8pm.
• Racing Schedule: Runners will start promptly at 8:00am, followed by 5K walkers and Mutt Strut walkers.

Awards and Registrations

• Awards: Top 3 in all categories will take home an award.
• Entry Fees: $30.00 before Nov. 30th, $35.00 before Jan. 4th, $40.00 after Jan. 4th.
• Mutt Strut Registration: $25.00 before Jan. 4th, $30.00 after Jan. 4th.
• Discounts: 5k Discount for Running Clubs and Children under 18: $5.00 off.

Virtual Event

This event is done at your leisure. We will mail a finisher medal and t-shirt for those who sign up.
