6th Annual South Gulf Cove CCT Furry Scurry 5K (Feb. 21st 2026 8am)

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

The Conservancy and Community Trust of South Gulf Cove would like to welcome you to our 6th Annual South Gulf Cove CCT Furry Scurry 5K Walk/Run. All ages are welcome to join us for this Dog-Friendly Walk/Run in the South Gulf Cove Community.

🐕 Race Details

• Date: February 21st, 2026
• Time: 8:00 AM
• Location: 14859 Ingraham Blvd, South Gulf Cove, Port Charlotte, FL
• Course: A special 1.5-mile course is available for Dog Walkers

🐾 Beneficiary Information

We are excited to be able to put on this Chip Timed event to benefit our local Animal Shelters and Rescues. The proceeds will be donated to the following:

• Englewood Animal Shelter (EARS)
• Suncoast Humane Society Englewood
• The German Shepherd Rescue in Punta Gorda
• The Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida

🎉 Post-Race Celebration

We will be grilling up some free hotdogs and supplying some brews after this event to celebrate all the participants. There will be raffles and silent auctions with some great prizes so bring some extra cash.

We will also offer a Virtual version of this race for our Furry Friend lovers from out of the area. Because this Race is a fundraiser, there will be no Refunds.

🕣 Race Day Procedures

• Packet Pick-up: Race Morning starting at 6:30 AM
• Early Packet Pick-up: Friday 2/20 from 5-8 PM at 14859 Ingraham Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33981
• Start Order: Runners will start promptly at 8:00 AM followed by 5K Walkers and then Mutt Strut walkers
• Gathering Area: There will be an area for Mutt Strut participants to gather before the start

5K Chip timed Walk/Run includes a race t-shirt, custom chipped bib, participation medal, and awards for top finishers:

• Awards: M/F - Overall, Masters (40+), Grandmasters (50+), Senior Grandmasters (60+), Veteran Grandmasters (70+)
• Age Groups: Top 3 Male and Female in age groups ranging from 9 and under to 80+
• Pricing: $30.00 before Nov. 30th, $35.00 before Jan. 4th, $40.00 after Jan. 4th

🐶 Mutt Strut Information

1.5 Mile Mutt Strut—includes a race t-shirt and finisher medal

• Pricing: $25.00 before Jan. 4th, $30.00 after Jan. 4th

🌍 Virtual Event

This event can be done at your leisure. We will mail a finisher medal and t-shirt for those who sign up.
