Superhero 5K, Kids Fun Run & Walk

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

The 2025 Superhero 5K, Kids Fun Run & Walk, hosted by Owensboro Health Foundation and Owensboro Health Healthpark, is a community event designed to honor Superhero Cancer Survivors and raise funds for the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center. Proceeds will provide assistance, support, and resources for patients.

🎉 How to Participate and Support the Cause

1. Register for an Event: You can participate in one or more of the following events:

5K Race:

• Entry Fee: $30 early bird entry fee by Aug. 31
• Post Deadline Fee: $40 after Sept. 1
• Registration: Registration is completed on THIS site.

Kids Fun Run:

• Entry Fee: $10 per child
• Limited Medals: The first 200 kids registered receive a medal and t-shirt.
• Registration: Registration can be completed at www.OwensboroHealth.org/Superheroes.

Superhero Walk:

• Free For Survivors: Cancer Survivors can participate in the walk for FREE! A team event honoring our superhero survivors!
• Entry Fee: $30 per person.
• Team Limits: There is no limit to the number of members per team. Teams may participate in honor or in memory of loved ones, co-workers, or friends.
• Symbolic Meaning: Each lap of the walk has symbolic meaning: The first lap will be in honor of cancer survivors, the second lap will be in honor of caregivers, and the third lap will pay tribute to those we have lost. Survivors will be honored at the walk.
• Registration: Registration can be completed at www.OwensboroHealth.org/Superheroes.

• Registration Opens: July 22
• Event Date: Saturday, September 27th
• Guaranteed Shirt Deadline: Register by Monday, Sept. 8
• Online Registration Deadline: Thursday, Sept. 24 at 5:00 p.m. for all events
• In-Person Registration (Sept. 27):
• 7:00 - 7:30 a.m. for the 5K Race
• 7:30 - 8:45 a.m. for the Kids Fun Run
• 8:45-9:45 a.m. for the Superhero Walk

• Schedule:
• 8 a.m. – 5K Race
• 9:15 a.m. – Kids Fun Run
• 9:45 a.m. (approx.) – Awards for 5K Race and Kids Fun Run prize drawings, Opening Ceremonies for Superhero Walk and Survivor Parade
• 10 a.m. – Start of Superhero Walk
• 8 to 11 a.m. – Music, Food, Kids’ Activities & Games, Superheroes!
• Other Activities: Music, food, kids' activities & games, and Superheroes will be present from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite Superhero.
• Awards: Prizes will be awarded for each event, as well as for the top fundraising individual and team.
• Participant Benefits: All registered participants will enjoy music, children’s activities, food and beverages and more!

🥇 Awards and Recognition

The Kids Fun Run (1/2 mile) is $10 but medals are limited to the first 200 kids. Must be registered by September 8th, 2025 to be guaranteed a Kids Fun Run Participant Shirt. Advanced online registration is required to participate. Kids Fun Run participants will receive a T-shirt, a finisher's medal and have the opportunity to be placed in our prize drawings.

🤝 Get Involved and Fundraise

Please join us for the Superhero Walk supporting our cancer survivors!

Gather a team of participants to support a family member, co-worker, or friend. Dress up as your favorite Superhero! Teams can walk in honor or in memory of a loved one, and cancer survivors will be honored at the event. $30 per team member (cancer survivors participate for free). It is not required, but teams are asked to raise funds to support the cancer center.

Become a fundraiser to help ease the burden of a cancer diagnosis for those in need. You can set up your own personal online fundraising campaign to support Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center by visiting www.OwensboroHealth.org/Superheroes.

🏆 5K Race Awards

5K Race Awards will be given to 1st and 2nd place Male and 1st and 2nd place Female in the age categories listed below. The overall Male and Female winners will be pulled from their age category and awarded separately.
