Wounded Warrior 5K Fun Run

🏃‍♂️ Walk, Run, or Jog...

This family-friendly event raises awareness and funds to support of our nation's bravest warriors and their families through programs and services provided by Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). Join us on the beautiful campus of Trane Technologies located in Davidson, NC, for a 5K along the shore of Lake Norman. If you're not local to Davidson, we still want you to participate so please join our "Virtual" option and participate from wherever you are!

🎖️ About Wounded Warrior Project

For over 20 years, Wounded Warrior Project has been providing a variety of programs, services, and advocacy to empower veterans and their families. As the leading veterans service organization in the United States, WWP provides post-9/11 wounded, ill, and injured warriors and their families with access to mental health services, physical wellness activities, VA benefits assistance and peer support.

📊 Statistics and Services

The VA reports veterans are more than twice as likely to die by suicide than non-veterans. Veterans are having to wait months to access mental health services at the VA.

• Impact: Many factors contribute to suicide: however, with effective programs and support, it can be prevented.
• WWP Services: Mental health counseling, physical wellness activities, financial readiness education, and VA benefits assistance.

🤝 Team Yellow Ribbon

In 2023, Team Yellow Ribbon began supporting WWP's cause and held its first 5K. In 2024, we cancelled our 5K to focus on assisting Western North Carolina recover from Hurricane Helene.

• Funds Raised: Over $17,000 in the last two years.
• Continued Efforts: Join us as we raise awareness of veterans' mental health services.

🏅 Race Participation

If you're unable to join us in Davidson, join our "VIRTUAL" option and walk, run, or jog in your area!

• Participant Benefits: All participants will receive a race bib, a WWP t-shirt, and a medal upon completion.
• Registration Deadline: Register by October 15th to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
