Cake by the Lake 5K Run and Walks

🎂 Race Overview

• Date: Saturday, April 4, 2026
• Location: Liberty Park, Inverness, FL on the Withlacoochee State Trail
• Events: 5K Run, One Mile Cakewalk
• Start Times: 5K Runners at sunrise, 5K Walkers at 7:03 a.m., 1-mile Walkers at 7:06 a.m.

🏞️ Course Description

• Scenic Route: Both routes travel along the beautiful shores of the Tsala Apopka chain of lakes.
• Finish Line: Participants will receive finisher’s medals upon returning to Liberty Park.
• Exclusive Design: Medals come with an elegant neck ribbon unique to 2026.
• Event Atmosphere: Enjoy great music, festivities, and the signature cake served by Lake Henderson.

🏆 Awards and Swag

• Age-Level Awards: Unique cake plate awards for the combined 5K races, three-deep in five-year increments.
• T-Shirts: No race T-shirts, but a specially designed WST Cake By The Lake edition T-shirt will be available for purchase online.
• Swag for Youth: 17 and under will receive different, top-shelf swag including a 3" full-color medal.
• Special Awards: Youth athlete participants are eligible for cake plate age group awards and overall race awards.

🕒 Important Details

• Registration Costs: $10 for kids up to 12 years old, $15 for teens 13-17: adults 18 and older.
• Packet Pickup: Begins at 6:30 a.m. on Race Day.
• Race Start: 7:30 a.m. SHARP!
• Free Photos: Available online for all participants.
