• Event: The Annual Cake by the Lake 5K and One Mile Cakewalk

Event Details

• Start Times: 5K Runners at sunrise: 5K Race Walkers 3 minutes later: 1-mile walkers 6 minutes after the start
• Course: Both routes travel along the shores of the Tsala Apopka chain of lakes
• Finisher Medals: Participants receive finisher’s medals with an elegant neck ribbon unique to 2026
• Awards: Unique cake plate age-level awards three-deep in five-year age increments for the combined 5K races

Additional Information

• T-shirts: No T-shirts for participants, but a specially designed WST Cake By The Lake edition T-shirt will be available for purchase online
• Photos: Free photos will be available online
• Course Conditions: Wonderfully flat, straight, and well-maintained course with many new PRs over the years
• Registration Fees: $10 for kids up to 12 years old, $15 for teens 13-17: adults 18 and older have a different fee

Youth Participation

• Swag: Youth participants will receive different swag than adults, including a heavy 3" full-color medal
• Awards Eligibility: Youth athletes are eligible for special cake plate age group awards and overall race awards
• Registration: Specific registration fees for youth categorized by age
