2nd Annual Run 4 Vets 5K and 1K Kids Fun Run

🏅 About the Event

The Pike County American Legion serves and honors all of America’s military Veterans, to include their families in and around the Pike County, Georgia community. This includes providing assistant to Veterans with physical, mental, emotional, and financial needs. Within its Veteran and Community programs, Post 197 provides information and education on Veteran’s affairs, Patriotism, and Americanism. The only way we can serve Veterans and the Community is through the community’s generous financial support. Participation in the event will help to assist Post 197 continue its Veteran and community programs.

📅 Event Details

• Date: Saturday, November 15, 2025
• Location: 23 Society Street, Concord, GA 30206
• Start/Finish: Located at the Fire Station in Concord, GA.
• Parking: Available in designated areas with a short walk to the start line.

🕗 Race Schedule

• Registration/Packet Pick-up: 8:00 AM-8:45 AM
• 5K Race Start: 9:00 AM
• 1K Kids Fun Run Start: 10:00 AM
• Awards Ceremony: Approximately 11:00 AM

👕 T-Shirt Information

• Guarantee Deadline: Friday, October 31, 2025. Late registrations will receive a T-shirt at a later date.
• Online Registration: Until 11:59 PM on November 13, 2025: in-person only until 8:45 AM on race day.
• Honor Veterans: Deceased Veteran's name on T-shirt with a $50 donation (includes one T-shirt). Deadline is 10/31/2025.

🏃‍♂️ Race Information

This event will be a 5K distance (3.1 miles). As we want every dollar possible to go directly to the Pike County American Legion Post 197, this race will not be chip timed. We will have a gun start and a timing crew recording all finishers' times and recording race results. Awards will be provided for overall and age group categories.

👶 Family Fun

Bring the kids to this family event. Inflatables will be available for kids to play on before, during, and after the 5K event. Kids can have fun while parents run/walk. New this year is the 1K Kids Fun Run option for youth ages 9 and under, with all participants receiving a prize.

🚦 Course Details

All registrants will receive a race T-shirt (be sure to sign up by the shirt deadline to guarantee one on race day), race bib, course support, and post-race refreshments. The 5K course is fully paved, well-marked with signs, and will have volunteers leading and following the racers. Participants should be aware of moving vehicles along the course. A water station will be available about halfway through the course.

Awards will be given for 1st and 2nd place for male and female runners in the following categories:

• Overall Winner
• Veterans
• Age Groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+
