- Practice Course: At 11:00 AM, a simple practice course will be available for first-time participants (come to the race start area).
- Intro Session: At 11:30 AM, the Miami Valley Orienteering Club will offer a voluntary intro session—perfect for newcomers or anyone wanting a quick refresher.
How It Works
- Time Limit: Two hour time limit to find as many controls as possible and make it back to the finish.
- Find Controls: Find controls in any order.
- Point System: Controls are worth five (5) points each with one (1) point penalty for each minute late.
- What is Orienteering? It’s an outdoor adventure sport where participants use a detailed map and compass to navigate through a series of checkpoints. Think of it as a mix of cross-country running and treasure hunting!
