ORRRC Turkey Hunt Map & Compass Challenge
Event Details
- Date: November 15, 2026
- Location: George Rogers Clark Park
- Start Time: 2:00 PM
- Time Limit: 2 hours
Registration
- Opens: 12:00 PM
- Online: Available until approximately 15 minutes before race start
- In-Person: Registration available on race day
- Minors: Must be registered by a parent or guardian
Pre-Race Training (Optional)
- Practice Course: Available at 12:00 PM for first-time participants
- Intro Session: Offered by the Miami Valley Orienteering Club at 12:30 PM
- Location: Race start area
- Purpose: Ideal for newcomers or anyone needing a refresher
How It Works
- Time Limit: Two-hour limit to find as many controls as possible
- Controls: Worth five (5) points each with penalties for late return
- Order: Controls can be found in any order
- Orienteering Description: Outdoor adventure sport using a map and compass
Provided for All Participants
- Course Maps: Provided at the start
- Chip Timing: Ensures accurate race times
- Loaner Compasses: Available for use during the event
- Adventure: Come ready for fun—rain or shine!
Fees
- Members: Run for free with proof of membership
- Non-Members: $5 for ages 15 and up, Free for ages 14 and under
- Proof of Membership: Required on race day for members not registering online

Animal Policy
- General Rule: Animals are not permitted at ORRRC events
- Service Dogs: Allowed if clearly identified
- Removal: Any other animals will result in removal from the event
