Urgent Updates
- Time Change: The start of the run is now 9:30 am.
- Check-in Area: The check-in/race start area has changed to behind the middle school.
- Facilities: There are lots of parking spots and Porta-potties available. No indoor facilities of any kind.
- USATF-CT Designation: This event is now part of the USATF-CT Xctry series!
Race Overview
- Distance: Enjoy a great 3+ mile (5K) run on trails, grass, and campus around the Trumbull High-Agricultural Center.
- Course Features: The course has no traffic, gentle hills, and possibly some mud & slush depending on weather.
- Participation: This event is open to all abilities!
- Unique History: Voted "One of the most unique races in CT" by attendees who often dress as cows and other mammals.
Post-Race Information
- Prizes: Participants can expect long-sleeved shirts, post-race food & fluids, and fun prizes.
- Kits: The usual fun cow-related swag will not include the popular keychains this year due to supply issues.
- Kids Run: We have a FREE Kids Cow Patty Fun Run. All abilities welcome for ages 9 & under!
- Participants: Ranged from ages 7 to 80+ last year: all are encouraged to wear old running shoes.
Awards
- Categories: Overall Male and Female awards, plus 1st & 2nd place awards in age groups.
- Age Groups: 9 & under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
- Prizes: Unique and fun prizes from discarded items in the director's basement.
- Charity: Proceeds will benefit Infinite Love for Kids Fighting Cancer in honor of Mia McCaffrey.
Registration Details
- Deadline: Register by midnight Nov. 16 to guarantee your shirt size.
- Fees: $25 for ages 18 & under: $25 till 10/31, $30 from 11/1-11/16, $33 from 11/17-11/23, and $35 from 11/24-11/29 for ages 19 & over.
- Online Registration: All registration is online only, including race day.
- Snacks: Post-race baked goods and snacks will be provided by the THS girls cross country team.
Event Schedule
- 8:00 am: Pickup starts for bib, shirt, etc.
- 9:25 am: Kids run directed by Donna Cramond.
- 9:30 am: Start of the Cow Chip Cross Country Run.
- 10:15 am: Awards ceremony.
