Annual Dash for the Dogs 5K Run/Walk
Join us for the 13th Annual Dash for the Dogs 5K Run/Walk on May 17, 2026, at 511 Lake Zurich Road - Jewel Tea Pavilion, Barrington, IL. This event raises funds for the dogs and cats under our care at Animal House Shelter!
Event Details
- Run or Walk: Participate in the 5K with your dog or without!
- Vaccinations: Dogs must be up to date on all vaccinations and be excellent around all other animals & people.
- Certification: The Race is Certified & Timed by J3 Timing, perfect for runners of all levels.
- Family Fun Walk: Enjoy a 1 Mile Family Fun Walk directly after the 5K!
Proceeds and Donations
- Fund Allocation: 100% of the proceeds go towards the dogs and cats at our No Kill Animal Shelter.
- Tax Deductibility: We are a 501C3 and all donations are tax deductible.
About Animal House Shelter
- Foundation: Founded in June 2002 to rescue and care for homeless animals.
- Rescue Operations: We rescue animals from high kill facilities that are euthanizing due to lack of space.
- Rehabilitation: Many animals have been abused, neglected, or abandoned, and are carefully matched with adoptive families.
- Common Reasons for Relinquishment: Time constraints, relocation, allergies, or a new baby.
Participation Details
- Dog Participation: Dogs are encouraged to participate in the run or walk!
- Prizes: The first two dogs to cross the finish line receive prizes!
