2026 Deer Lake 5 Mile Trail Run

Race Overview

It’s back! (and hopefully back for good!) After a 7 year pause and a change of ownership, the Deer Lake Trail Run is back. Deer Lake Outdoor Center, formerly Deer Lake Scout Reservation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to accessible outdoor education while protecting their more than 250 acres of green space and miles of trails. Come to rural Killingworth, CT to run (or hike) the Deer Lake Trail Run.

• Course Length: 5(ish) miles
• Elevation Gain: Almost 500 ft
• Terrain: True trail course with rocks, roots, and possible mud
• Scenic Views: Traverse the 250+ acre property

Entry Fees

• Early Registration: $30 through March 15th
• Standard Registration: $35 March 15th - April 15th noon
• Late Registration: $40 April 15th - April 25th noon
• Race Day Registration: $45 (cash or check ONLY)

Awards

Awards will be given to the overall male and female winners and the m/f winners for each of the following age groups:

• Age Group 1: 0 - 12 yrs. (Participants under 10 must be accompanied by an adult)
• Age Group 2: 13-19 yrs.
• Age Group 3: 20-29 yrs.
• Age Group 4: 30-39 yrs., 40-49 yrs., 50-59 yrs., 60-69 yrs., 70+ yrs.

• Registration: 8:00 am – 8:45 am
• Race Start: 9:00 am
