🎉 Post-Race Celebration

Crossing the finish line, you’re welcomed into a lively post-race celebration at the rally tent. Live music fills the air, and an array of delicious Mexican treats and drinks awaits you. Celebrate your accomplishment with fellow runners, sharing stories and soaking in the festive atmosphere.

👗 Costume Contest

At the heart of the "Day of the Dead Half Marathon: Texas Parks Edition" is an exciting costume contest that invites runners to fully embrace the spirit of Dia de los Muertos. Participants gather at the starting area to showcase their most creative and vibrant costumes.

Costumes: Expect intricately painted calavera faces and elaborate skeletal attire.
Judging: A panel evaluates costumes based on creativity, authenticity, and overall impact.
Award: The winner receives the coveted "Day of the Dead Best Costume Award."
Networking: This pre-race contest adds camaraderie and excitement!

Entertainment: Our DJ will be playing all the hits while announcing every runner.

🏆 Race Distances Offered

Kids Dash: A non-timed 20-yard dash for kids 10 and under, includes a tee shirt and medal.
1 Mile: Open to all ages, non-timed and includes a tee shirt and medal.
5K: A 3.11-mile chip-timed event featuring awards for first-place finishers.
Quarter Marathon: A 6.55-mile chip-timed race with age group awards.
Half Marathon: A chip-timed 13.1-mile race with awards for male and female finishers.

🏅 Awards Details

Standard Age Group Awards for 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon:

Trophies: Awarded for 1st overall male/female and 1st overall male/female Masters (age 40+).
Age Group Pins: Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards for specific age categories.
Recognition: Special recognition awards for younger age groups.

🙋‍♂️ Volunteer Opportunities

Sign up under the "VOLUNTEER" tab on the top menu. Course Monitor and Aid Station volunteers earn a Bigfoot race shirt, souvenir race medal, and a choice of a FREE race entry to a future event or a $20 pre-paid digital gift card!

Course Monitors: Help maintain safety and guide participants in the right direction.
Aid Station Volunteers: Provide hydration and keep the course clean.
Costumes Encouraged: Bring fun elements to cheer on runners!
Check-in: Arrive at least 1.5 hours before the start time.

🌦️ Race Conditions

Bigfoot races proceed rain, shine, hot or cold. Packet pickup is always offered for 1.5 hours before the event start time, and if additional pickup is needed, participants will be notified via email.

📍 Course Details

Bigfoot Running Company races are typically held at parks and green belts. Expect a mix of course surfaces, including paved trails, crushed granite, and dirt paths where necessary.
